Assessing high potential talent for a leading UAE bank
Building on a vested interest in the developmental journey of its employees, a key client of
Aon Hewitt and one of the largest banks in the UAE, launched an exclusive high potential
program to develop tomorrow’s leaders, today, by providing its colleagues with customized
opportunities for accelerated growth.
Journey Vision
Our client was in the process of re-launching its high potential talent program and as part of the process had identified
high potential talent internally. They wished to partner with Aon Hewitt undertaking a targeted assessment to identify
individual strengths for their high potential group. This involved alignment of their capabilities to organizational needs and
highlighting improvement areas to groom the next generation of leaders within the bank.
Project Scope
Aon Hewitt were required to examine and contextualize the behavioral competency model and undertake assessments
for junior and mid-management high potential employees to:
•	 Understand the key strengths and areas of improvement correlated to the organization’s needs/ context
thereby prioritizing developmental investments effectively.
•	 Provide insights on employee strengths, build more self-awareness and allow individuals to tap into their
inherent strengths.
•	 Help employees identify potential derailers so they can structure their development journey focused on
career acceleration.

To ensure momentum gained due to the excitement around this exercise, resulting reports and feedback sessions were provided
to participants within weeks of the assessment. Stringent timelines for both parties were met with comprehensive planning, risk
management interventions and regular communication. Results were cascaded in a phased and disciplined manner ensuring
continued enthusiasm on this journey.
