Considering the socio-political dynamics of our society in which we were raised, I’m convinced that it is very unlikely for the young aspirant women like us in their thirties even to run for office or it might be a stroke of luck that someone without any political background gets elected because of their political struggle.

Women in Bangladesh live in such social system where socialization process plays an influential role to push them in an inferior and a subordinate position in society. This socialization process starts almost with the birth of a child. Through differential treatment in their everyday lives which vary by sex, a sex identity is acquired. This socialization process associates girls with the immediate environment inside home, and boys with wider environment. And this results in future with an unfavorable attitude of women towards politics. Women’s equal participation in political life plays a pivotal role in the general process of the advancement of women. It is not only a demand for simple justice or democracy but can also be seen as a necessary condition for women’s interests to be taken into account. Without the active participation of women and the incorporation of women’s perspective at all levels of decision-making, the goals of equality, development and peace cannot be achieved.

Re-positioning the role and place of malaysian Women for National Development...Imam-Tamim Esq.
The place of women in decision making at various strata of living has been a front burner issue in the current milieu. The number of women allowed to participate in nation building worldwide is abysmally low especially in Malaysia where the women are culturally believed to be better suited for the role of home makers. Various researches have however shown that women are naturally made to contribute to development both domestically and nationally. Other Researches have equally shown that the women have been facing challenges in assuming political positions where they can adequately and practically contribute to national development as a result of certain socio-political and cultural challenges. This paper therefore investigates the factors that contribute to the inhibition of women in this regard despite their landmark educational progression and achievement. The paper argues that Malaysia will profit in its national development and nation building programmes if more women are allowed to participate in national governance. This will be achieved by harnessing the traditional roles of women in the family life for the benefit of the nation.

the last 50 years of feminist activism in India has managed to challenge the 5,000 years of patriarchal order. the main achievements were the deconstruction of violence against women, questioning of male domination within the family, kinship, religion, media and the State, in addition to a series of legal reforms. understanding of privilege to reshape the world has been the distinct contribution of the feminist movement along with the focus on the marginalised.
the feminist space in India is distinctive and builds upon a diversity of women’s groups, political party networks, feminist and HIV/AIDS-related nGos, nonfunded feminist and queer groups and individuals, democratic rights groups, eco-feminists, non-feminists, research institutes and universities. Despite the broad experience, this space remains rather disunited.
Currently, there is a backlash to feminism, as major insights of women’s activism did not succeed in altering the fixed notions of gender roles and traditions. on the contrary, some of these have enjoyed a revival with marketisation and cultural traditionalism. there is a disconnect between theory and practice: study groups and human rights activists seem to work in silos, unlike in the 1970s when there was greater dialogue between the women’s movement and women’s studies.
the gendering of citizenship requires us to question and challenge the fact that citizenship, a supposedly public identity, is produced and mediated by the supposedly private heterosexual patriarchal family. the ‘personal’ has become ‘political’ as it is completely submerged in power relations. Like any other structure of power, patriarchy too has an outside, which is what makes possible the different kinds of protests that constantly undermine it.
Feminism today is the constant questioning of the world we perceive and the boundaries we encounter. the more we understand, the more we are able to build a narrative for change. there are innumerable new energies arising from different positions transforming the feminist field: new contestations of patriarchy, and new contestations of the normative feminism itself. It will be the interplay of fields that might change the system altogether.

A study onwomenentrepreneurshipinharyanatheirdevelopmentandmainconstraintsAnuragSingh1049
Increased female entrepreneurial activity heralds a progress for women’s rights and optimization of their economic and social living index. Women entrepreneurship is synonymous with women empowerment. Parallel to the male counterparts, female entrepreneurs are catalytic in job creation, innovation and more than tangible contribution to the GNP of the country. An economy thrives when women get a level playing field as men. Innovation works as a catalyst or an instrument for Entrepreneurship. Indian Women, despite all the social hurdles stand tall from the rest of the crowd and are applauded for their achievements in their respective field. The transformation of social fabric of the Indian society, in terms of increased educational status of women and varied aspirations for better living, necessitated a change in the life style of Indian women. This paper endeavors to explore studies related to Women Entrepreneurship and Innovation in India. Few examples from Haryana, India have been taken to understand the study in a better way.
Why women empowerment is essential for development what is the role of women is necessary for social, economical and political establishment of Pakistan or for development.
Women in Pennsylvania are severely underrepresented in the political and legislative process, and this hurts everyone. With women comprising only 15% of the General Assembly, there is vast progress that can be made, creating a legislative system that benefits from the diverse talents that women bring to the table.

Women Electoral Quotas: Global Trend and Comparison with PakistanCPDI
Women's empowerment is a complex and evolving concept that is constantly being
defined, and re-defined.1 Empowerment is simply a political process of granting human
rights and social justice to disadvantaged groups of people. Women's empowerment is
said to be women’s increased access to material resources such as land, income,
availability of decent employment opportunities with good working conditions, access to
power through representation in political and decision-making bodies, the freedom to
make choices in life, enjoyment of basic rights granted in the constitution and
international agreements, equal access to quality education and health facilities,
mobility to be able to access various facilities, and control over one's body, sexuality

WOMEN REPRESENTATION IN LOCAL GOVERNMENT IN PAKISTANCPDI
It is observed that power relations, which form political, economic, social and cultural environment, hinder women’s full participation in all these fields. Politics is one of those fields where gender inequality has gained global attention. From voters to elected members, women are under-represented and this occurred not due to lack of abilities, but the prevailing environment of political discrimination and cultural barriers denied women right of equal participation even in democratic governments.

Russian anarchist and anti-war movement in the third year of full-scale warAntti Rautiainen
Anarchist group ANA Regensburg hosted my online-presentation on 16th of May 2024, in which I discussed tactics of anti-war activism in Russia, and reasons why the anti-war movement has not been able to make an impact to change the course of events yet. Cases of anarchists repressed for anti-war activities are presented, as well as strategies of support for political prisoners, and modest successes in supporting their struggles.

2. An ex-colleague of mine asked me to write something on

in a crossroads of thoughts about how and why women
have been second class citizens in the world. So, the first
thought that crossed my mind was ‘Women Suffrage’, which
was about the voting rights of women in America.
www.pakvoter.org/wie/
3. Yes, you read it right; it’s the United States of America, the
most developed country in the world could not give equal
rights to women until recently (the 1960s). This does not mean
that Pakistan is by any means better than America in the
provision and exercising of equal rights to women.
www.pakvoter.org/wie/
4. Constitutionally women do have rights but it is far from reality.
For instance, in the recent General Elections 2018, PK-23
Shangla – Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) ordered re-
election as women’s voter turnout was less than 10%, which is
against the law.
www.pakvoter.org/wie/
5. What does that benchmark mean? To me, it means that even the
government knows that women’s voter turnout will be far less
than men, which is why a benchmark has to be there to ensure
women’s participation. Even then, women are not participating in
the election process, why? Are they opting for it or they are forced
to stay at home? I think both are valid reasons for low
participation. I’ll explain why.
www.pakvoter.org/wie/
6. Pakistan is a patriarchal society and everything revolves around men;
may it be breadwinning, decision making for the household, or ones’ self.
Men are the real deal in Pakistan. Similarly, gender roles have also been
strictly defined in favor of men in Pakistan. All these norms and values
of a religious and patriarchal society are embedded within us to an
extent where even women are found to be propagating and imposing
these very values and so-called rules on themselves and other women.
www.pakvoter.org/wie/
7. The concept of nature and nurture come into play at this very
moment. I believe that it is not the nature of men or women,
rather both men and women are nurtured in a way that makes
us a patriarchal society. By nurture, I mean that women also
teach men to be superior or privileged than women from the
very beginning.
www.pakvoter.org/wie/
8. Every female must remember her mother sparing, (the leg piece of
chicken) ‘THE ACHI BOTI’ for the brother and not allowing them to eat it
even if the brothers are not at the dinner table.
Therefore, patriarchy is not imposed by men alone; women have equally
participated in it. Similarly, both men and women must and can work
together to make this society equal for both men and women. It is us
who have to work together to ‘nurture’ our coming generations in a way
that both men and women are equal from birth till death.
www.pakvoter.org/wie/
9. Women are progressing in every profession such as – doctors,
engineers, politicians, sports, business and you name it. We
find women in every single profession in Pakistan. So,
disappointed people must understand that every society grows
with time and so will Pakistan. InshAllah.
www.pakvoter.org/wie/
10. Let us work together to make it a progressive Pakistan!!!
Yes, there is a lot of Hope!!!
