Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is an anxiety disorder characterized by unwanted and repeated thoughts (obsessions) and behaviors (compulsions) done to reduce anxiety. Common obsessions include worries about contamination or performing certain acts correctly. Compulsions are rituals like cleaning, checking, or organizing to relieve anxiety. Hoarding disorder causes difficulty discarding items and makes individuals feel anxious. OCD can range from mild to severe and if left untreated, can destroy one's ability to function.

1. Anxiety Disorders
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder(OCD):: is an anxiety disorder in which people have unwanted and
repeated thoughts, feelings, ideas, sensations (obsessions), or behaviors that make them do something
(compulsive).

Compulsive: persistent, irresistible, irrational urges to perform an act or ritual repeatedly.
- the individual knows such acts are senseless but cannot resist performing them without experiencing
an intolerable build up of anxiety- which can be relieved only by yielding to the compulsion.
Hoarding Disorder: individuals cannot discard unwanted items because doing so makes them feel feel
unbearably anxious.

2. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Levels of OCD can be anywhere from mild to severe, but if severe and left
untreated, it can destroy a person’s capacity to function at work, at school,
and home.

3. Depressive and Bipolar
Disorders
Depressive Disorder: disorders characterized by extreme and unwarranted disturbance in emotion or
mood.
-Without treatment, symptoms can last for weeks, months, and years.
Bipolar Disorder: is a mental illness marked by extreme shifts in mood ranging from mania to
depression. It is also called bipolar disease or manic depression.
-there is no cure, but there are many treatments that can help you manage the symptoms.
symptoms : during an emotional high or “”mania””a person can bipolar disorder may feel excited,
impulsive, euphoric, and full of energy.

4. Major Depressive DIsorder
Major depressive disorder: a mood disorder marked by feelings of great
sadness, despair, and hopelessness as well as loss of the ability to experience
pleasure.
Key symptoms for major depressive disorder are psychomotor disturbance
Body movement, reaction time, and speech may be so slow that some
depressed people seem to be everything in slow motion.
Constantly moving and fidgeting, wringing their hands, and pacing.
