Describe the religious damage King Saul caused to the people of I srael King saul lost faith in God and consulted a medium at Edor.The people of Israel lost in battle because Saul had no faith in God they were defeated in battle leading to their exile in foreign countries. King Saul disobeyed God by failing to completely destroy the Amalekites and all their possessions as God had commanded.A key part of the conditional covenant between God and Israelites was obedience. It led to the division in Kingdom as a punishment by God and unity was undermined. It led to idolatry and there was persecution of yahweh’s prophets. The spirit of God quit Saul and was replaced by an evil spirit that tormented him. The Israelites broke their covenant with God by introducing religious festivals that were not in the Mosaic law King Saul built places for worship of idols and carried the covenant box on a cart.
