urope-wide, public research organizations (PROs) are facing with decreasing of public funding. Therefore, they are urged to detect the generation of additional sources of income for the implementation of technology transfer activities. The aim of this presentation is to share the best practices of Maribor University’s innovation ecosystem in generating revenues from university-business interactions and to identify cross-border opportunities for potential cooperation.

Teacher Training at Universities with “Inverse Blended MOOC”

Six universities collaborated to develop a new module on digital competencies for teacher training programs. They created a MOOC lecture called "Teaching and Learning with New Media" that was implemented in the 2019 and 2020 summer semesters. In 2019, it was a blended format with the MOOC lecture and in-person exercises, while in 2020 it was fully online due to COVID-19. The MOOC aimed to provide open educational resources and increase digital competencies of pre-service teachers across the universities.

Petar Sorić is an Assistant Professor of Statistics at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Economics and Business in Croatia. He teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses in statistics and econometrics and his research interests include business and consumer surveys, time series analysis, and macroeconometrics. Sorić received his PhD in Economics in 2012 from the University of Zagreb and has received several awards for his research. The InnoTeach project aimed to transfer innovation best practices from industry to teachers' education and certification in Slovenia, Austria and Hungary. It developed an innovation training model and curriculum focusing on creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship. Seventeen teachers were trained as mentors and helped develop 16 student innovation projects addressing various challenges. The project helped establish more innovative learning environments in schools to encourage problem-solving and entrepreneurship skills.
