Anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH), also known as Müllerian inhibiting substance, is a glycoprotein hormone that is structurally similar to activin and inhibin. It belongs to the transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β) cytokine superfamily. During embryonic development in males, AMH is produced by Sertoli cells and causes regression of the Müllerian ducts. In females, AMH is produced by granulosa cells in the ovaries and plays a role in folliculogenesis.
