This document discusses the differences between another, other, others, the other, and the others when used with singular nouns, plural nouns, countable nouns, and uncountable nouns. It provides examples for when to use each term based on whether it is referring to something of the same category or something extra of a different category. Singular nouns and countable nouns
Ex: another book / another chair
Used to mention an extra thing ( of the same category)
Ex: would you like another Apple?
I have one skirt but I want to buy another skirt
ONE/ONES
I have one skirt but I want to buy another ONE
My cellphone is broken I need to buy another ONE

3. OTHER
• Plural nouns and uncountable nouns
• Ex: other chairs / other music
• refers to something extra, something else but of a different category.
• Ex: what other movies do you like besides horror films ?
• Other music is more relaxing.
• Tip: when we have in the sentences the word ANY to make a negative
sentence you use OTHER
• I don´t need any other book
• You can use Another but never write any in the same sentence:
• I don´t need another book.

4. OTHERS
• Plural nouns ( it functions as a pronoun) and also it is used to
avoid the repetition of the words.
• Example:
• Some girls like soccer others preffer basketball
• These cars are expensive others are cheap.
• Pulsar motorcycles are fast others are slow.

5. THE OTHER
• Refers to something in specific ( it doesn´t matter if it is
plural, singular, countable or uncountable)
• The other students will be here soon.
• This car is new the other one is 5 years old.
• The other children are in the school.
• I didn´t like this movie, The other one (movie) was more
interesting.

6. THE OTHERS
• Plural ( no mentioned the noun)
• Refers to something specific.
• To make sentences with THE OTHERS we never mentioned the noun is
incorrect to say:
• These rooms are clean the others rooms are dirty.
• These rooms are clean the others are dirty.
• These days are sunny, the others were cold.
