In 2018, Catalyst Balkans reported a significant growth in charitable giving in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with 2,032 unique instances recorded, resulting in an estimated total value of €7.9 million, a 33.3% increase from the previous year. The rise in philanthropy was driven largely by individual contributions, with citizens accounting for 48.5% of instances and 37% of total values donated; healthcare remained the top supported theme. Despite improvements, there are calls for enhanced transparency and broader support for various beneficiary groups, including the need for partnerships between corporate and nonprofit sectors.
