Document 1 summarizes an analysis of the National Student magazine, looking at its front cover, conventions, layout, design and comparisons to other magazines. Document 2 describes developing ideas, titles and color schemes for a student magazine, then creating and distributing a questionnaire to gain student audience feedback. Document 3 analyzes the results of the questionnaire from Document 2, including both quantitative data from questions with set answers and qualitative data from open-ended questions collecting opinions.

1. Document 1; This was a research assignment where I was looking at The National Student magazine,
I conducted and in-depth analysis of this magazine, looking at codes and conventions. The first part
of the document focuses in on the front cover, conventions of that magazine and comparisons with
other magazines. The second part looked at content, layout and design.
Document 2; We were put into teams and told to come up with ideas for the magazine, we created
titles, stories and colour schemes. What we then needed to do was to create a questionnaire to gain
audience feedback. The questionnaire was aimed at the demographic of students, so their feedback
was essential. As this was conducted by myself, this is primary research.
Document 3; This was the analysis of that previous questionnaire. I created graphs for every
question, and then analysed that graph. Not only did I gan quantitative data, I included questions
where people were open and gave opinions/feelings and so qualitative data was gained too. This
counts as the analysis of primary data.
Document 4; This was the focus group, this was conducted with a rival team. They gave us detailed
analytical answers which was good for the creation of our magazines. I asked them about what they
liked/disliked and I asked for any suggestions which they could offer to us.
Document 5; This was a risk assessment, I created one for every different scene which I would
photograph and I created one for every different day which I photographed.
Document 6; I had to conduct an interview which was to be audio recorded, so I created an
interview style questionnaire which was handed in for evidence. I used my book when it came to the
interview, and I had recorded on an audio recorder.
Document 7; This was an assignment where I was to conduct research on SSFC. I firstly looked at the
Background History of the college, and then I looked at courses offered at the college. Organisational
structure was the next agenda, and student bodies were discussed to great lengths. Facilities were
discussed too.
Document 8; Another research document, this time it looked at requirements of working to a brief
looking at negotiation and compromise. This is all secondary research as I looked at textbook
extracts when defining terms and conducting research on brief requirments.
