1. Ancient Egypt Essays
Crafting an essay on the subject of Ancient Egypt poses a unique set of challenges, making it a
task that demands both meticulous research and thoughtful analysis. Delving into the depths of
history requires navigating through an extensive array of sources, ranging from ancient texts and
archaeological findings to modern scholarly interpretations. The sheer volume of information can
be overwhelming, necessitating a discerning eye to select relevant and credible sources while
sifting through countless perspectives.
Moreover, the complexity of Ancient Egypt as a civilization presents the writer with the
challenge of distilling multifaceted aspects such as religion, governance, social structure, and
cultural practices into a coherent narrative. Ensuring that the essay provides a comprehensive
overview without losing focus on key themes requires a delicate balance.
Furthermore, the need for contextualization is paramount. It is not sufficient to merely present
facts; an effective essay must also offer insights into the significance of these historical details,
exploring the broader implications and the influence of Ancient Egypt on subsequent
civilizations.
Additionally, the process of synthesizing information and crafting a compelling argument
demands a mastery of language and writing skills. The challenge lies in presenting the
information in a logical and engaging manner, maintaining the reader's interest while adhering to
the conventions of academic writing.
In conclusion, writing an essay on Ancient Egypt entails navigating through a labyrinth of
historical data, synthesizing complex information, and presenting a well-constructed narrative. It
requires a combination of research prowess, analytical thinking, and effective communication
skills. Despite the challenges, the exploration of this ancient civilization is a rewarding
intellectual endeavor.

2. Samuel Beckett s Waiting For Godot
Samuel Beckett was born in Ireland on April 13, 1906. Waiting for Godot was
composed between 1948 and 1949 in French. The premiere was on January 5 1953 in
Paris. After World War II, he wrote Waiting for Godot. In Samuel Beckett s play,
Waiting for Godot, it is essential that the play is characterized by time and
hopelessness. That the purpose of life is unanswerable; there is no apparent meaning
to it. When first analyzing the play, there is an uncertainty if anything happens within
the play or the title character s significance because of the constant repetition without
achieving answers throughout the story. Waiting for Godotcaptures the feeling that a
situation is hopelessly unfathomable. The play characterizes hopelessness with forms
that symbolize humanity and its behavior with all the characters. It emphasizes that
because a human s life is dependant on chance and that time is meaningless,
reassuring that a human s life is meaningless. The reality of this makes humans
ambiguous, looking for outside forces, which may or may not be imaginary, for
direction. Just as Vladimir and Estragoncling onto Godot, without knowing whether
or not he or it is real. On of the play s assumptions is that chance is the main factor
behind a human s existence. Again, leading that human life is determined by and
only chance. Beckett beckons on the path of religious symbolism. Hints of
Christianity are influenced in this play throughout. In fact, opening moments of the
play, Vladimir
3. David Slavitt
The Wrong Version of Titanic David K. Slavitt s poem Titanic explains the way
most of the people look at the tragic event occurred in April 14, 1912. The poem
uses a lot of sarcasm to portray its message describing how people would ve bought
the tickets for the ship even if they would ve known that it was going to sink. With
this poem, Slavitt s work not only focuses on the sinking of the Titanic, but also on
the impact it had on people and makes the reader think about the way most of the
people look at the event based on movies and stories, which don t show things as
they happened. Titanic uses irony and symbolism in the poem to make the readers
imagine they have the chance to be part of the story by describing the enthusiasm and

But its real heroes were often among the crew, none more stirring than Second
Officer Herbert Lightoller, who had survived one shipwreck and a cyclone before
getting his position on the Titanic. He had gone off watch when the ship struck the
iceberg but was the most energetic and resourceful in getting as many women and
children as he could into the boats, which he knew very well would only have
room for around half of the passengers and crew even when fully loaded (and many
weren t). Told at the end to get in one himself, his reply, without irony, was not on
your life. Attempting to make the last collapsible lifeboat usable, the rush of water
swept him away. The force of an engine explosion brought him back to the surface,
where he managed to struggle to the capsized collapsible to which 30 men were
desperately hanging. Such was the brutal frigidity of the water 28 degrees Fahrenheit
that hypothermia did half of them in during the night. Eventually transferred to
another lifeboat, Lightoller was the very last of the survivors to board the Carpathia.
He went on to serve in the First World War and took his converted yacht Sundowner
to Dunkirk, where he got 130 off the doomed
4. Led Zeppelin s Influence On Rock Music
Stemmed from a humorous conversation among musicians, the name Led Zeppelin
has had a great impact on rock music. Their influence had carried on past the 1970 s,
the time of their highest peak of popularity when they had toured extensively. Almost
instantaneously they had become a hit, performing four concert tours in the US
within their very first year. As time went on, many heavy metal bands such as Deep
Purple, Black Sabbath, Queen, and Aerosmith as well as punk bands like the
Ramones had been impacted by Zeppelin and showed similar music styles in their
own work. However Robert Plant, frontman for Led Zeppelinremained ingratiatingly

This had taken quite a toll on the band s unity as Plant had begun to separate
himself and pursue new paths before returning to the band. The song All of my
Love , co written by Plant, was dedicated to Karac, (his son). On top of the death,
Plant in an interview remembered how his band had abandoned him in his time of
need. During the absolute darkest times of my life when I lost my boy and my
family was in disarray, it was Bonzo who came to me. The other guys were [from]
the South [of England] and didn t have the same type of social etiquette that we
have up here in the North that could actually bridge that uncomfortable chasm with
all the sensitivities required ... to console (Giles). What he goes on to describe
even more profound was when Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones (bassist), and Grant
had declined to make an appearance at Karac s funeral. This action had forever
hindered the relationship between Plant and his band members. However, it was
Page that had kept Plant from walking away from the band insuring that the band
was nothing without him. Plant goes on to say how, he [Jimmy Page] wanted me to
take a break until I felt ready for playing again. I realized that we are more than
business partners. We are real friends. We have enough money to live a life without
troubles, but nobody

6. Analysis Of There Is A Monster By Mary Shelley
Feral children or wild children (What happens to those who grow up in complete
isolation?) The lack of parents presence and responsibilities make children become
wild. These following points show how a child becomes feral: lack of family, lack of
guidance, and lack of love. In Shelley s novel, there is a monster that was created
by Victor. He has suffered these lacks. According to Shelley s novel the creature also
becomes wild because the lack of family, guidance and love. A child that grow up
without a family can be describe as a person that is living a desperate life because
that child does not have anybody around him or her to make this child feel more
secure about his or her life. To be specific, most things they can do when their
parents are not around them, they will not do it if the parents are present. Ingley
says. I don t think the general public really knows what it wants from its criminal
justice system, and in particular, how it wants to address the problem of youthful
offenders in our society (Brian, paragraph 17). The lack of family makes a great
impact in these children s life because it leads them to the misbehavior; for
example, they do crimes, and also being disrespectful. Furthermore, if many children
are living with their families, the society would have another image without any
crimes, and many more problems that can make others suffer. Some of those kids
ended up in jail or prison actually is because the lack of parents. They are living for

8. A Study On Smart Polymers
SMART POLYMERS
Polymer scientists have been trying hard to mimic this feature for the last twenty
years creating called smart polymers. These are defined as polymers that go through
reversible large, physical or chemical changes in response to small external changes in
the environmental conditions, such as temperature, pH, light, magnetic or electric
field, ionic factors, biological molecules, etc. Smart polymers have very promising
applications in the biomedical field as delivery systems of therapeutic agents, tissue
engineering scaffolds, cell culture supports, bioseparation devices, sensors or
actuators systems. pH sensitive polymers: pH sensitive polymers are
polyelectrolytes that bear in their structure weak acidic or basic groups that either
accept or release protons in response to changes in environmental pH. The pendant
acidic or basic groups on polyelectrolytes undergo ionization just like acidic or basic
groups of monoacids or monobases. However, complete ionization on polyelectrolytes
is more difficult due to electrostatic effects exerted by other adjacent ionized groups.
This makes the apparent dissociation constant (Ka) different from that of the
corresponding monoacid or monobase. By generating the charge along the polymer
backbone, the electrostatic repulsion results in an increase in the hydrodynamic
volume of the polymer [1]. This transition between tightly coiled and expanded state
is influenced by any condition that modify electrostatic repulsion, such

10. Advertising Strategies In Advertising
Viktor drives a 2013 Dodge RAM. He realized he was wasting up to $1,000 in gas
money a week so he did a little car research. Two days later, he was driving down the
freeway on his way home from work. He glanced at a neatly placed billboard of a
2016 Prius with excellent mileage. The car fascinated Viktor. He bought the car
right away and traded in his gas chugging truck. Viktor was happy and ready to use
the money he will save on a vacation.
The ad industry is a necessary evil. This paper will examine how advertisements use
marketing strategies to reach the viewer s subconscious. To help prove my point, I
will use the 2016 Toyota Prius: Heck on Wheels advertisement. The advertisement
starts with what is a content, organized, single, middle aged man, momma s boy,
with an indoor job, and drives a Prius singing to a metal beat. The advertisements
overall focus is to try to convince the audience that The All New Prius is the new
cool. It shows some safety features that come from driving the Prius. The driver
Todd Morgan approaches a gas station and shuns the other vehicles for needing to
fill up gas it shows the Prius saves a lot of gas. The advertisement is for the Average
Joe . Some marketing strategies used by this advertisement and advertisement
companies include gender, social status, and data mining.
Social status means the ranking one has in society. For example, the Kardashians
have a very high social status, a homeless heroin addict has a low social status. Todd
11. I Am Depressed And Hungry
I am poor. I am depressed and hungry. I have nothing and own nothing. Survival is
difficult.
Every night, I sleep outside, in the boiling sun or in the freezing moonlight, on the
hard ground. Whether it is hailing or raining, I sleep there with my mama and sister.
But it never snows or rains here. We have no water.
In the morning, I wake up early, hungry, bony, and weak. My mama can t afford
breakfast like you can. Nothing lives here, so we are lucky if we find a few strands
of grass.
Today, my mama found a few bright red seeds. We tried to eat them, but we were
too weak to crack them open. The sun had made them as hard as pebbles. We are still
hungry.
Mama and my sister, Heyla, made necklaces, pretending the seeds were beads. They
really did look wonderful, but Mama knew we had to sell them.
I walked with Heyla, barefoot, on the rock covered ground. It had cracks in it from
all the heat and sunlight. Heyla and I panted to the village miles away, the stones and
solid pieces of dirt sticking painfully into our feet. The kids in the village had food
and shoes. They even had schools and homes. They were lucky.
Heyla entered the village gates first, but we both gasped at its sight. It looked like a
paradise to us. All those things. . . .
I wish we could live here, Heyla. Mama would be so much happier, I told my sister.
She nodded, but didn t answer. We both knew we couldn t afford life here. Ever
since Papa died, the villagers kicked us out.
At first when the villagers saw

A sweatshop is a factory where employees are subject to extreme exploitation; they

hours. Child labour is, as the word suggests, when children under the legal minimum
age are employed to work

This excuse hinders outsiders knowing exactly what is happening inside the
factory. People didn t want to tell us about the factories whereabouts either, as they
were scared of getting physically assaulted by the security men surrounding the
factory. At last we found a factory called June Textiles, which manufactured
products for both Nike and Gap, but no one would tell us more than that. Checking
treatment of workers here was going to be a huge task. The factory was well
guarded and looked like any ordinary factory from the outside, but at that time we
didn t know what harsh realities workers were facing inside the factory.
We needed to talk to the workers on home turf, away from the security men
surrounding the factory. Late at night we got a call from a couple of workers who
said they were prepared to speak to us, if we met them after their shift, at their home.
For them to talk openly about the conditions in the factory was a big step.
This was the one of our first big surprises, 8 women were living together in a tiny
little room which on a regularly basis had power cuts and was without running
water. As we interviewed them they told us that Nike and Gap treat them as dirt,
they work 16 hours a day, which is 112 hours a week. This contradicts with Nike and
Gap s code of vendor conduct, which says ВґВґOn a regularly scheduled basis

she is interested in pursuing social work when she goes away to college, however,
her parents would like her to either practice medicine or law. She reported that just

immense stress. As a result of the stress she reports that her grades have dropped and
she is socializing less. Hua has requested that the school social workertell her what to

Overview of Person Centered Theoretical Approach
Person Centered Theory (PCT) was cultivated by Carl Rogers from the 1940 s
through the 1950 s (Walsh, 2013). He first developed person centered therapy,
infusing Functional and Humanistic views, consequently, person centered theory
followed. Rogers authored four books expounding on the therapy (Walsh, 2013).
Person Centered Theory is a nondirective humanistic client centered approach, which
regards the client and the social worker as contemporaries (Joseph Murphy, 2013).
The client is the authority on their life and the social worker is there to offer
unconditional positive regard, which fosters growth in sections that are important to
the client (Joseph Murphy, 2013) . The primary theoretical underpinning embraced by
the theory is embodied in actualizing tendency, which Rogers viewed as

16. Is Shakespeare Relevant Today
Every year in school, without fail, we read, study, and discuss a piece of
Shakespeare. He is long gone 300 year old news if you ask me but yet he is still
relevant today. Why is this? From beyond the grave, Shakespeare is still
communicating his ideas every time a student is called on to read the next line of
Romeo and Juliet, or another passage from Julius Caesar is assigned for homework.
Whether he was actively trying to make a name for himself is debatable, but this does
lead to another question: Why is his content still important? Although Shakespeare s
accomplishments in of themselves are noteworthy (154 sonnets don t write
themselves you know), it s not for that reason, necessarily, that we study his works.

In this essay, we will consider and analyse the effect of Brexit upon the rights of
individuals as well as the effect it will have upon the competence of the devolved
Scottish government and its relationship with the UK.
Treaties, regulations and directives make up the European Union (EU) law. They
have a direct effect which means that they are directly implemented in United
Kingdom(UK) law. However, a Directive is binding to the result to be achieved,
upon each member state to which it is addressed, but shall leave to the national
authorities the choice of form and methods . The national law is legislated in a way
that gives effect to the directive. As a result of Brexit treaties and regulations will no

The charter was still carrying out its main role of reaffirming rights, but the UK did
not allow it to go beyond this power.
Leaving the EU would mean that the charter would no longer apply in the UK, as a
result a lot of our rights such as environmental protection, data protection etc would
be lost. Also, EU regulations and any future or unimplemented legislation cannot be
relied upon in UK courts. Therefore, any future improvements of fundamental rights
protection will cease to apply in the UK
As the UK has now left the EU the most important question is what will happen to
our rights. There is great uncertainty about this as it depends upon what path the
UK takes and what sort of contact it maintains with the EU. For example, if it joins
the European Economic Area (EEA) then the EU fundamental rights law will still
apply, this is because the European Free Trade Association has held that the
provisions of the EEA agreement are to be interpreted in the light of EU law.
Additionally, the remedies available under the EU law are wider than those under
the HRA 1998 because of the supremacy principle. The UK will have civil and
political rights, but it will lose a wide range of rights and there will be less remedial
options for violations. The Human Rights Centre at the University of Essex

their education. In Enders Game, he is doing it for the world. Ender is being used as
a child soldier to stop an alien race and at only age eleven, he is a commander of his
own fleet and commits genocide. This is obviously wrong on so many levels, in real
life and in the book. Someone at a young age that should be happy and smiling is
making a choice whether or not to end someone s life. The up side is there is a lot of
people trying to end this and people like the International Labor Organization are
working very hard to end all forms of child labor. There was also a walk to raise
money for the benefit of child labor. Africa is most of the organizations main focus

20. The Prince And Discourse On Livy
In his famous works, The Prince and Discourse on Livy, Machiavelli meticulously
discusses the importance of religion in the formation and maintaining a political
order. Machiavelli regards religion as a political tool used by political elites for
political purposes. He argues that the appearance of religionis good while the practice
of it is harmful. One of the memorable passage from the Prince that supports
Machiavelli s claim is when he advices the prince to not to be good, and the prince
should cultivate the appearance of the religion if he wants to maintain his state. The
prince, he writes, should appear all mercy, all faith, all honesty, all human, all
religion he adds and nothing is more necessary to have than this last quality (The
Prince, 70). Here, Machiavelli argues, in order for the prince to maintain his state, it
is necessary for the prince to go to the source of morality and by this he means
religion. Thus, Machiavelli view on religion is nothing but a necessary tool for
maintaining a political authority.
Furthermore, Machiavelli stresses the importance of the religion as a political mean
to control and govern the masses. In the Discourse on Livy, Machiavelli uses the
example of how Numa the founder of Roman religion, manipulates the Roman
people by using religion to maintain order and peace. Machiavelli praises the
wisdom of Numa for inventing a religion to control a very ferocious Romans. In
praising Numa, Machiavelli writes: As he found a very

Jean reveals who he really is, when there is an accusation towards a man named
Champmathieu claiming he is Jean Valjean. This proves that Valjean is brave
because, he was hiding his identity for years and one day he had the courage to
speak out and not be scared about the consequence. If Valjean kept silent, a
innocent man would be sent to prison unjustly. In addition, To live I stole a loaf of
bread; today to live I will not steal a name (386). Valjean admits to stealing a loaf of
bread, and that was the reason why he went to prison. Being able to recognize the
mistakes that once happened, because it relieves lies on top of other lies that pile
up is really brave. Since Jean s one event of stealing for his family turned his whole

What is even worse and nearly incredible is that fathers and mothers refused to see

The effects of Swine Flu are similar to traditional influenza. As we mentioned, these
symptoms can include fever, coughing, loss of appetite, fatigue, runny nose, sore
throat, eye irritation, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. An infected person may have
all or a few of the listed symptoms. If left untreated or without any rest, fluids,
vitamins(etc.) Swine Flu can result in death or other serious medical issues. In
order to counteract this disease, the CDC recommends the use of oseltamivir or

fight against the flu by keeping flu viruses from reproducing in your body. If you

drugs work best if started soon after getting sick (within 2 days of symptoms).

Kierkegaard s Seduction of the Reader in The Seducer s Diary Kierkegaard s novel
The Seducer s Diary follows the story of Johannes, a man who lived much too
intellectually to be considered a seducer in the ordinary sense and his seduction of
Cordelia Wahl (Kierkegaard 9). There is however, another seduction that takes place
in The Seducer s Diary , namely Kierkegaard s seduction of the reader. The purpose
of the seduction of the reader in this novel is to maintain the interest of the reader
through interruption, affirmation of interpretive accuracy, and denial of that same
presumed interpretive accuracy via denial. The language used in The Seducer s Diary
is utilized to confuse, negate, and entice the reader into following... Show more

However, I believe that the most important one is Kierkegaard s use of interpretive
confusion to both affirm and deny the interpretations of the reader. On page 102 in
his diary, Johannes writes, That is, a book has the remarkable characteristic that it
can be interpreted as one pleases (Kierkegaard 102). I believe that the intent of this
insertion is to imply to the reader that there is ambiguity in every interpretation of
the novel. This is not an invitation on the part of Kierkegaard to allow the reader
complete freedom of interpretation, but rather a warning about the potential
unreconcilable ambiguity and confusion that would occur if one were to interpret
every book as one pleases. As an author, Kierkegaard does not let the reader freely
interpret this text. Instead, he predicts the interpretations of the reader in order to
deny these interpretations as he does with his ambiguous use of the you . Johannes
writes on page 96, My art is to use amphibolies so that the listeners can understand
one thing from what is said and then suddenly perceive that the words can be
interpreted another way (Kierkegaard 96). I believe that this is representative of
Kierkegaard s style in this novel, in which sudden reversals of perception and
interpretation are abundant. The use of amphibolies by Johannes leads the reader
down many different potential interpretive pathways. One marked example of
24. The Death Of The Yacht
April 3rd, 1966 As I depart from the New York Harbor in Vida the Yacht, I hear the
screaming voices of the city becoming one mumbled echo; becoming a wall
pushing my boat further and further away into the freedom of the sea. The
disconcerting, explosive screams of a city enraged, shrieking, make love not war
soon decrescendos into the calming, humming winds of the ocean. All that those
people are rioting for, I have found. Peace. Just a few miles out from where they
stand. If only everyone could sail their boats far away and be still for a few
moments maybe then they would realize peace is here: peace exists. We just have to
be quiet and still enough to let it speak.
May 3rd, 1966 I have been at sea for a month now. Although the screams of my
enraged city are silenced by distance, they are still here in my head. I am so far
away, surrounded by nothing but blue water and skies, yet my mind and memories
keep me close. I have had no connection with the outside world; I have tried only to
have connection with my inside world. I often wonder how many are dead now.
When I left it was around 100,000. But I have to remember, that is not why I came
out here. I did not come out here to be blinded by the echoing screams in my mind
of the incessant worry of my heart. I came out here to find what all of this societal
insanity inhibits peace because only when we find peace internally may we find it
and share it externally in this world.

Enterprise mobility improves the time, content, and form dimensions of information
quality.
Since each dimension is improved, the resulting overall quality of information
generated by an organizational information system that utilizes enterprise mobility is
also improved.
Improved Information Accessibility
Enterprise mobility enables improvements in information accessibility. The degree of
improvement is directly dependent upon the mobile hardware and communications
equipment in use. The degree of information accessibility required which defines the
hardware and communications requirements is determined by the business needs that
are driving the enterprise mobility application. Enterprise mobility technology
(hardware, software, and communications) provides a wide range of options that can
be mixed and matched to fit the needs of each individual enterprise mobility
application.
The improvements in information accessibility enabled by enterprise mobility result
in improved information flow both to and from the central fixed information system.
The mobile computer enables quick and efficient information retrieval from the
central information system. The ability to access central information and make fixed
or ad hoc queries of corporate databases enables employees to get the information they
need to complete the job. The mobile computer also enables transmission of current
operational data, in native digital format, from the mobile user to the central fixed

Before the year had run its course, hundreds of people in Texas, Colorado,

29. Elizabethan Vs. Jacobean Periods
The Elizabethan and Jacobean periods characterized the architecture of English
developments in large country houses. Antique styles of earlier times changed by the
architecture of Elizabethan bringing the beauty of Renaissance expose. Even
nowadays, there are everywhere examples of the Elizabethan architecture, places like
country houses, as a proof of the good work of builders and architects. The houses
were built to resist difficulties through the years.
At the present time, the choice of living counts on the income and the social class
with which is identified, just like at the past. This means that they were various kind
of homes. Countryside began to rectify. Small farm houses turned to great houses
with promoted gothic styles and Renaissance detail. The architectural style of
Elizabethan affected England from the late 1500 s until 1600 s. The earliest
characteristic was that churches construction stopped and the building of houses
started.
To express their wealth, the houses were built by strong statesmen, successful
merchants and the enriched nobility. As Elizabethan royalty increase, their homes
also became bigger and better, with gorgeous stone foundations with various levels
and a lot of rooms. The houses were looked and appreciated as symbols of social
class and personal status. Elizabethan visual expression of order and harmony, is the
most unique characteristic in these great dwellings, by the use of classical symmetry.

Creating a Safe Environment for LGBTQ Youth in Schools Introduction Over
decades, research has been devoted to many issues related to lesbian, gay, bisexual,
transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth (Dragowski, McCabe, Rubinson,
2016, p 127). This essay presents a literature review examining research conducted
on different aspects of the LGBTQ youth. The review was conducted using key
terms of LGBTQ youth , bullying, and school safety. Findings presented in the
study cross the topics of how KGBTQ youth struggle, how they become victims
because of their sexual preferences, the incidence of LGBTQ victimization in
schools, and what schools can do be more aware of and address the related issues.

31. The Importance On Knowledge And The Quality Of
Knowledge
Encompassing a significant portion of human knowledge such as the arts and
physics, an academic discipline is a subject area studied in higher education. Over
time, knowledge in academic disciplines naturally develops and advances.
Knowledge is what one acknowledges to be true because one believes in the
evidence provided. Knowledge quality can be a measure of the degree of
excellence of the knowledge gained. Personal knowledge can then be of quality
when it is useful to the individual, and shared knowledge, when it contributes to
societal wellbeing and advancement. However, such a definition suggests
numerous issues. First, quality can be abstract and difficult to measure. Next, not
every type of knowledge is equally useful to everyone; knowledge gained doesn t
have equal quality for everyone. Additionally, methods of gaining knowledge are
developing, so how can the quality of knowledge found a century ago compare to
ten years ago? Knowledge at any point is considered to be of the best quality at the
time, but this standard of quality changes. What was of quality yesterday may not be
so today. If the definition of quality is evolving as knowledge develops, then can
knowledge of enduring quality ever be found? Considering that some disciplines are
more certain than others, withstanding quality depends on the methods in which
knowledge is found in different disciplines. Considering architecture as an art,
personal and shared knowledge are subjective. Where movements are
32. The Paradox of Choice
It all comes down to one question. Is it better when you have more choices or
when you have fewer choices? Most people would answer more choices as they
would feel less limited because it is common to associate having more choices with
having more freedom and having more freedom with having more welfare. In fact,
this is not always correct as you may not have enough knowledge to know which
may be the most beneficial to you in the long run. This is turn relates to what is best
known as the paradox of choicebecause we may think we have more but in reality
we have less and find ourselves in a far more complex situation. The paradox of
choice explains in depth how certain individuals and societies are affected when the

Medical centres are now much more helpful than before by offering many
solutions to individuals (Gillespie). This is actually seen as an advantage to
patients because they will have more awareness in terms of how serious their
illness is and doctors are now able to list many more treatment options to patients
than before giving patients the freedom to choose the treatment they want to
undergo. In turn, most people don t know what is best for them and they can end
up choosing a certain type of treatment which can end up causing another sickness
that can be fatal due to side effects (Iyengar). The advertisement of prescription
medicines is also a great contribution to such a situation because individuals look at
how good the advertisements look and assume that taking the certain prescription
medicine being advertised will be the solution to their problem. This then causes
doctors to be persuaded into writing prescriptions for their patients to have their
desired medicines. Yet again this is another example of freedom of choice which is
what people want because they will feel even better by being able to choose what
medicine to take. As a result, some individuals can actually be lucky and
successfully treat themselves but many end up aggravating their health by trying
medicines that can cause a negative response on their bodies. In the modern world,
people now have the flexibility to work whenever they want and in almost any
location (Salecl). This is a big

Greek mythology is not something that the average person thinks to be of
importance or practical in any way. However, they fail to realize that Greek myths
have a great influence on modern society, and many life lessons are buried within
these legendary stories, hidden from the common eye. Many of these stories have
themes that have real world, modern connections that have proven themselves time

Perseus. Kronos, and Zeus relates to Napoleon and Hitler attacking the Russians.
Theseus relates to Osama Bin Laden, and Perseus relates to Qin Shi Huangdi.

In this story, Acrisius, the king of Argos is told by an oracle that his grandson will
be the death of him. Because of this, he casts his daughter out to sea. When Zeus
sees this, sympathy overcomes him and he has a child with Acrisius daughter
Danae. This child would be known as Perseus. Perseus then goes on to slay
Medusa, and ends up killing Acrisius, fulfilling the oracle s prediction (Lang 1 6).
The theme of this story is that you cannot change fate, you can only change how
you handle fate ( Perseus Notes ). This is seen in many scenarios, but one is most
prominent, and sticks out like a sore thumb. It is the story of Chinese dictator, Qin
Shi Huangdi, the man who tried to cheat death, and rule the universe. He spent
more than half of his life in a futile search for an elixir of life. ( Qin Shi Huangdi )
Much like the king Acrisius, Qin Shi Huangdi tried to change fate, in his case
death, he did not enjoy what he had, but instead he tried to get what he couldn t.
Acrisius was also trying to prevent his death, and suffered the same fate as Qin Shi
Huangdi. What Qin Shi Huangdi should have known was that death is inescapable,
and there is no way of changing that. Instead, the both should have enjoyed their
lives while it lasted. These two stories of people trying to defy fate again supports the
idea that Greek myths have a huge impact on the

From an endocrine functioning perspective, vital hormonal involvement allows the
body to achieve such standing. Two of the major hormones that is included in this
structures endocrinal portion are known as glucagon and insulin, and are directly
produced by the pancreas islets of Langerhans (patho 144). These hormones have a
purpose in the human body, specifically, sustaining blood sugar levels. A simpler
method of understanding both hormones is by considering their purpose as being
the exact opposite of one another. For instance, the pancreas secretes glucagon
when a human is in a fasting state, signifying someone is unfed. On the other hand,
insulin is secreted during the body s postprandial or fed condition (Pathp 144).
Ultimately, the glucagon that is released triggers the liver to eject stored glucose,
resulting in increased blood glucose (sugar) levels. Insulin, having the reversed
effect, acts as an assistant to glucose in order to help it enter into the cells and also
support its storage formation (Patho 144). Insulin, partaking in additional purposes,
also plays a critical role in boosting free fatty acid storage and intake while also
encouraging protein synthesis. By doing this, the body has created its own source of
checks and balances to ensure proper function and

Embedding Graphs can be used to represent relational information. This is the reason
why it is often useful to draw graphs in order to visualize this relational information.
Spring Embedder are force directed layout algorithms. All edges are drawn as straight
lines. Force directed layout algorithms model the input graph as a system of forces
and try to find a minimum energy configuration of this system. Essentially the aim is
to provide an aesthetically pleasing graph for easy visualization. 10.2.Content
Analysis Content Analysis is done based on a particular set of keywords and/or
targets. For example, to analyze the contents of terrorist and extremist websites, the
content categories include: recruiting, training, sharing ideology, communication,
propaganda, etc. Specialized computer programs are developed to help automatically
identify selected content categories. UA s AI Lab has built a systematic procedure
for collecting and monitoring Dark Web contents using a Dark Web Attribute System
to enable quantitative analysis. Fig.3Dark Web Collection and content analysis

sophistication, media richness and web interactivity of a targeted websites. The end
goal is to determine the level of web savviness of the targeted individuals by
examining their technical
41. A Summary Of Olibrius The Old English Life Of St.
Margaret
The Old English Life of St. Margaret describes the events starting from the capture of
Margaret by Olibrius to her beheading. Throughout the entire work, Margaret stays
true to her faith in the Christian God and fights to preserve her virginity, a symbolic
representation of her loyalty to her faith. During the narrative, Margaret is tortured in
various ways to relinquish her virginity; she is beaten, boiled, beheaded, and more,
but she remains passive throughout every obstacle except her encounter with the Devil
. In contrast to all of her other encounters, Margaret physically attacks the Devil, and
that action raises the question of what leads her to behave in such a way? Is her
patience running thin? Are her abusers violent tendencies influencing... Show more

Margaret the reader is confronted with various bizarre events that Margaret is forced
to face. She is beaten, burned, encaged, and beheaded which are punishments any
normal person would not be able to withstand. While most people would show some
signs of aggression, Margaret remains resolute and calm. Her encounter with the
Devil, however, is delineated from the other challenges she faces because it is the
only instance she uses force to achieve her goal. Therefore, a probing question
throughout the remainder of the reading is why Margaret chooses to hurt the Devil
rather than passively resist? As evident by the text, Margaret s encounter with the
Devil is the ultimate test of her faith, therefore she uses her physical strength to exert
maximum control over the situation. Margaret s dual nature is interesting to observe,
yet difficult to interpret. However, through careful analysis of the circumstances
surrounding her actions, one can see that Margaret s physical force to maintain her
42. Use Of Force Training For All Law Enforcement Agencies
Use of force Over the past three years there has been a conflict with the use of force
not just by police but with citizens as well. Recent events such as the shooting of
Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman in 2012 and the killing of Mike Brown by
a Ferguson police officer just recently in August of 2014 has raised eyebrows about
the use of force. Clearly there is a misunderstanding of the concept of when and
when not to use force especially when it is the use of deadly force. The training
that is given as well as the understanding of use of force is outdated. The federal
government should implement excessive use of force training for all law
enforcement agencies in the U.S. Let s look at the Trayvon Martin tragedy as an
example of unnecessary use of force. George Zimmerman followed Trayvon
Martin after a dispatcher told him not to which lead to a confrontation between the
two. Under Florida stand your ground act a person can protect themselves if they
fear their well being is at harm even using deadly force. Zimmerman clearly
outweighed Trayvon but claims that his use of deadly force was justified on a
minor who also had a justified right to protect himself from Zimmerman advances.
When a firearm is discharged at a person that is using deadly force, one of the highest

Deadly force cannot be used to inflict injury or frighten a person. It is only used to

43. Analysis Of A Coward s Bravery
A Coward s Bravery
How much do you have to sacrifice to be a hero? Rachel Bublitz My Body is a one
act futuristic play in which a man, Patrick, applies to the government to have a
collar that controls his body removed. In a ploy to regain his self respect and right
to his body, Patrick is faced with a moral dilemma. Arthur Miller s Tragedyand the
Common Man claims that tragedy is felt by readers when a character is willing to
risk it all by laying down his life (267) in order to obtain their rightful position.
While Patrick does argue for his right to his body, when he is faced with the
possibility of permanent methods of containment (Bublitz 331) he ends his fight to
reclaim his dignity. Is Patrick still considered a tragic hero even though his bravery
was limited? According to Miller s theory he would not be, however his character
allows the audience to reflect on their own coward bravery while he highlights the
injustice within the world of the play and reality.
Patrick s character development throughout the play is a reflection of his degrading
environment in a society that is hostile to men. As a result, Patrick goes through
states of submissiveness and frustration qualifying him as a hero. According to
Elinor Fuchs Visit to a Small Planet: Some Questions to Ask a Play , the social
world of a play constructs not only the story it tells, but the characters it hosts. In
My Body, it is revealed that the world Patrick lives in oppresses men. Until they are

44. Prion Protein
Prion Protein (PRNP) is encoded by a gene, which contains a highly unstable region
of five tandem octapeptide repeats. An octapeptide repeat is a fragment from the
protein which is composed of eight amino acids joined by peptide bonds, repeatedly
copied along the amino acid chain. Within PRNP; these are tandem meaning that the
octapeptide sequences are in such an arrangement that they are lined up one behind
the other (Mastrianni, 2009).
Prion diseases or transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (TSEs) are fatal
neurodegenerative disorders (Jeong and Kim, 2014). These are diseases which affect
the nervous system, in particular the brain across many species. They are transmitted
via prions. Prions are essentially proteins which like many proteins ... Show more

This polymorphism encodes either for methionine or valine and is a major genetic
risk factor for prion diseases. Codon 219 alongside codon 127 can contain further
resistance to Kuru.(Mead et al., 2011) Kuru is a TSE; only found in tribal regions of
Papua New Guinea (PNG) where endocannibalism occurs. (This is the practice of
eating the flesh from decreased humans from the same community). One would have
assumed that these adaptations for Kuru protection would be local to PNG, however
they are widespread across the globe, perhaps indicating that endocannibalism may
have occurred amongst all populations in the world histoically or alternatively it may
be a normal site of variation amgonst the populations which only become significant
when patients are exposed to abnormal prion proteins determining protection from the
infection.
The ancestral allele is Adenine (A), the alleles may either be adenine or Guanine
(G). It must always be remembered that alleles are in pairs due to the formation of
genetic material from two different haploid sources: paternal and maternal and the
pair of chromatids forming the chromosome. Therefore, the resulting combinations of
alleles can be homozygous (two identical alleles i.e. AA or GG) or heterozygous
(two different alleles i.e.
45. My First Day Of My Sophomore Year Of High School
My first day of my sophomore year of high school starts today. Riverview High
School is a huge school and has tryouts for the Kiltie Band Highland Dancers
today. If you make it, there is a rumor you are instantly popular. My name was
posted on the short list in the hall next to my homeroom class and I am a Highland
Dancer now. My best friend Theresa made it also, we have been placed in the same
dance group. Even though we are only sophomores we are put into the Senior
Dance Group A. This group just happens to be the best dance group at Riverview.
We have been informed that we will be in the group that gets to perform at the
Inaugural Parade if we make it through the cuts for the Parade. Six months later, I
was walking to first period when I am called to the office. All the Kilties in Senior
Dance Group A were called. We were confused until we found out about The Letter.
The Letter stated that we were going to the Presidential Inaugural Parade. We are
performing in front of President Reagan LIVE! Theresa and I already have room
assignment in the hotel. Since we are going to D.C. alone without our parents we
are told to stick together like glue. The next day, I am so excited because I turn 16
in three days and I m throwing a mega party! We have a DJ coming to play the
latest tunes. I m finally going to be considered old enough to take care of myself,
which means I can date! Unfortunately, I still have a curfew around 10 or 10:30 on
the weekend. Three days later, I
46. Brutus And Mark Antony Speech Analysis
In William Shakespeare s Julius Caesar, both Brutus and Mark Antony provide
moving funeral speeches in hopes to sway the crowd towards their opinion. Brutus
makes an attempt to assure the Roman people of his own innocence and justify the
murder of Julius Caesar. Adversely, Mark Antony offers a speech to counter that of
Brutus and act as the defense for Julius Caesar. While both speeches are sufficient in
swaying their audience, Antony is able to use both pathos and antithesis more
effectively and his use of the devices enables him to provide a far more compelling
speech. Brutus attempts to use pathos to stir the crowd and develop empathy. In his
speech, Brutus declares, As Caesar loved me, I weep for him . Brutus use of this
strategy was less effective than Antony s because he focuses too much on his own
emotions than trying to manipulate his fellow Romans emotions. His lack of focus
on the others emotions prevented him from using this device effectively. Though
Brutus makes an attempt to gain his audience s sympathy, he fails to do so.
Mark Antony s speech also provided use of the rhetorical device pathos in order to
sway the citizens of Rome to his side. His most prominent use of this rhetorical
device is when he sobs, Bear with me; My heart is in the coffin there with Caesar,
And I must pause till it come back to me . In saying this, Mark Antony allows for the
Romans to empathize with him and gives a pause for them to think for a moment and
feel pain with him. By trying to provoke emotion in the citizens of Rome, he creates a
better use of the rhetorical device than his fellow Roman. Antony s use of pathos was
innumerably better than Brutus . Antony connects to the citizens of Rome and allows
for them to empathize with him. However, though Brutus provides emotions in his
speech, he does not provide the same connection and his attempt to appeal to his
audience s emotions falls short. Antony demonstrates how strongly he feels by
weeping over the body of Caesar. Brutus, however, reveals his emotions by plainly
stating that he feels remorse, thus preventing the Romans from empathizing with
him. In addition to pathos, Brutus speech offers a weak example of antithesis. He
uses antithesis to invoke
47. Santa Maria De Florence Essay
n 1418 the town fathers of Florence finally addressed a monumental problem they d
been ignoring for decades: the enormous hole in the roof of their cathedral. Season
after season, the winter rains and summer sun had streamed in over Santa Maria del
Fiore s high altar or where the high altar should have been. Their predecessors had
begun the church in 1296 to showcase the status of Florenceas one of Europe s
economic and cultural capitals, grown rich on high finance and the wool and silk
trades. It was later decided that the structure s crowning glory would be the largest
cupola on Earth, ensuring the church would be more useful and beautiful, more
powerful and honorable than any other ever built, as the grandees of Florence decreed.
Still, many decades later, no one seemed to have a viable idea of how to build a
dome nearly 150 feet across, especially as it would have to start 180 feet above the
ground, atop the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One contending architect, it was said, proposed to support the dome with an
enormous pillar rising in the center of the church. Another suggested building it out
of sponge stone (perhaps spugna, a porous volcanic rock) to minimize its weight.
Yet another, according to early legend, proposed that a mountain of dirt mixed with
coins serve as scaffolding, to be cleared away free of charge by the money grubbing
citizenry after the dome was
48. Trainspotting Theme
Trainspotting is the title on a fantastically well made movie that s mainly about
choosing a life other than the one we are accustomed to in our daily lives. There are
many reasons on how it is similar to today s society. For example, Trainspotting deals
with being stuck between different choices. The movie shows the importance of
having right friends. Lastly, I liked the way mental illnesses are presented in
Trainspotting. .
One of the main themes of Trainspotting is making decisions. In teen and pre adult
lives, there are a lot of choices one needs to make. There could be anything from
education to relationships: in which some people have a hard time dealing with the
difficulties those choses pose. Renton, the protagonist, rants about choose life , and
he chooses heroin as a way to escape the different choices. The times he does choose
to lay off the drugs, he experiences withdrawal symptoms, like anybody else would
after quitting drugs. That s why many addict like him, try to find a way to cope
with the different choices in life, and many turn to alcohol and/or drugs for comfort.
The main factor is choice, because in the end it is you who make a choice on your
life should be. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Trainspotting one gets to follow the journey of friends who found their comfort
in drugs, alcohol or violence. As a young adult myself, I believe that many times
we tend to seek comfort in other people, and therefore many of us usually end up
choosing the same path our friends encourage us to. This could be applied to
Trainspotting. Tommy, against drugs and lies, suddenly collapses when his
girlfriend leaves and he tries to find comfort in heroin just like his friends
supposedly do. Since Tommy was already surrounded by addicts, it was easier for
him to feel pressured into doing the same

Proceeds will be used for family gatherings and entertainment, to help families and
the community connect together. Volunteers and practicum students are welcome
to share their expertise in the program. A number of families will opt for a
government subsidy for their children s child care benefits. The centre can also
assist families in supplying the necessary government forms. However, in order to
have a well rounded financial statement to pay its staff and keep the operation
running, all families must write a postdated cheque dated every 1st day of the
month for 12 months. A minimum 30 days notice shall be given if the parents
decide to withdraw their child from the program. If the fiscal budget allows, new
equipment or additional natural toys will be purchased. Also, a toy drive will be
organized for families where they can participate and donate new/appropriate toys to
the centre. Finally, the administration will establish a yearly evaluation of staff and
provide increments in salary based on work performance and additional
50. Pauls View On The Church
PAUL S THEOLOGY ON THE CHURCH __________________ A Paper Presented
to Dr. Presley Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary __________________
In Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for NTS 3213 __________________ by
Jin Hyun July 27, 2015 PAULS VIEW ON THE CHURCH Apostle Paul is one of
the most beloved follower and author of 14 books in the New Testament. One of
the most prominent teachings of Paul is regarding on the subject of the church.
Not only did he write letters to church but in many occasion talked about what the
church is. But the question that often brings up is What is the church? In the
following paper I will lay out what Paul believes and describes of what the church
is, and what the church does. What is the Church? There are key references in the
Bible that Paul talks about regard the church: Ephesians 1:22 23; 2:11 22; 3:3 9,
Colossians 1:24 27; 1 Corinthians 12:12 13; Galatians 3:26 28, Romans 16:25 27.
Church is also commonly known as the Temple of God. In Ephesians 2:21 22
refers that in Christ is made a new man that brings in Gentiles to be grafted in and
be fellow heirs with the Body of Christ. In Christ all differences such as color,
ethnicity, sex or status becomes molded into on under Christ. Simply put, it erased
the line of Jew and Gentiles. Paul in the Bible mostly uses the word ekklesia in
Greek to describe the church. Ekklesia means an assembly or called out ones which
draws conclusion to say that it is not referring to a
51. Board Game Settlers Of Catan, Cities And Knights
1.For my evaluation essay, I will be writing about the board game Settlers of
Catan, Cities and Knights. I m interested in this topic because we play this as a
family more than any other board game. We always look forward to playing this as a
family and I believe it could spark some interest in other readers.
2.My judgement on this product is that it is not like any other board game you
have played before. Since the game can be randomized at the setup stage, no two
games are ever the same which means there is a lot of replay value. If you like
strategy, this game is for you and your family. Board game junkie or not, Cities and
Knights is a must have for you and your family.
3.First and foremost, cost is important for readers, which
