- 2. I have decided to look at this music video as it is in the genre that I wish to study. Firstly there are many conventions used in this video, It is set in an urban environment which makes Ed Sheeran more relatable as most are from urban backgrounds therefore he is easily identified with. It also is set in a deserted location which is typical for a music video as it may suggest that your closer to the artist as you feel alone with them. There are several close ups used which help the audience to identify with him, as well as again feeling close to him. Performance shots are used which make us feel that he has a large fan base and he is very popular. Finally there are low angle shots used which make it appear as though he is someone who we look up to as an idol. There are links from the video to the lyrics, to begin the name of the song is Lego house and we see him playing with a lego helicopter. This is also repeated throughout as we again see him playing with a lego house. The costume used is typical of indie as it is very plain ordinary clothing which makes it easier to identity with him as we see him as an accessible character. This video incorporates humour as it uses the person we know plays Ron Wesley and then later we find out it is not Ed Sheeran whom we believed it to be this gives us a sense of narrative as we guessing whether it is Ed Sheeran or not. It is humorous as in the end we see that Ron Wesley is portrayed as a crazy fan. There are typical concepts used in this video as we see him writing down lyrics as well as walking alone in rural areas.
