This document analyzes and summarizes three horror movie posters: - The "Quarantine" poster features a frightened woman with green lines implying she is being filmed, adding to the found-footage atmosphere. - The "The Descent" poster shows screaming women in the shape of a skull over a pit, with one woman frightened above and light coming from below, hinting at danger underground. - The "Shutter" poster uses many small pictures of people to form the face of a screaming woman, with half her face a skull, creating an unsettling effect.

1. Analysis of a horror poster
i have chosen to analyse the poster for
“QUARANTINE” because of its simple but
attractive nature. There are a few bits of mise-
en-scene in the poster such as the dark
atmosphere around the person on the poster
who is also female and it is common for women
to be the victim on the poster or in the actual
film. The woman has a look of fear on her face
which tells the audience that something terrible
has happed. The poster has green lines going
down it which implies she is being filmed by a
home video camera the [REC] sign in the
corner of the poster and the battery sign adds
to this effect. The film looks like its for young
adults.

2. Analysis of a horror poster 2
I have also chosen to analyse the poster of
“THE DESCENT” it caught my eye when I
was searching around for posters and it looks
really good. The women on the poster are
screaming and are in the shape of a skull and
it looks like they are over a pit getting dragged
into a pit. The woman at the top of the skull
looks like she is frightened of something or
she is in pain. The pit has got a light coming
out of it which implies that there may be a
light or a fire down there. The women are
dressed in shorts or jeans and all are in tank
tops not the usual thing you would see on a
horror poster. The area around the pit is really
dark and you can make out some horrible
creatures around the pit.

3.  I have chosen to analyse the poster for the
movie “SHUTTER” this poster grabbed my
eye because of the effect on the poster.
There are many pictures of people on the
poster but they all make up the face of
screaming woman and if you look closer
you can see that one half of her face is a
skull.
