2. What are we doing?
Why are we doing it?
• We are building a guide that will allow researchers to assess where they
are in regards to research data management.
• Our goal is to build a tool that is comprehensive, practical, and user friendly
• Researchers are faced with new expectations and obligations in regards to
how they manage their data.
• We believe research data management is an essential component to
initiatives aimed at ensuring researach integrity, openness, and
reproducibility.

9. What are our next steps?
How can you help?
• We are soliciting feedback from research data management practitioners.
Namely, researchers.
• We are looking to define the divisions and steps within our guide and
determine what specific practices we should include.
• Would you find a tool like this useful?
• Should there be more discrete “steps” within our framework?
• What else should we put into our model?
