Editor's Notes

  • #2 Good morning everybody - welcome back to day two of Scripting Life. The approach we have taken is quite different from yesterday and possibly quite different from anything you may have experienced before so I want to take a little time to explain the goals of the day; why we structured it this way, and some logistical issues on how this is going to work.
  • #3 Primary goals Introductions Share our contributions & roles (ViBRANT is complex) Highlight admin. & legal obligations Medium term-planning
  • #4 Need to keep in the back of our minds various facts: Background considerations Our audiences (old & new) - VIBRANT is about engagement Functional overlaps (internally & externally) Scheduling, dependencies, status reporting, risks Processes & standards External engagement & opportunities Most of ViBRANT is NOT research Avoid stovepiping
  • #7 No one cares if your talk is 2,3 or 4 mins Everyone cares if your talk is 6 minutes The time limit will be strictly enforced! Dave or me will stand up at 4 and step on to the stage at 5. EVERYONE IN A WP ON STAGE IN ORDER OF SPEAKING Naturally we want to start and end the day with the most exciting presentations. Unfortunately that wasn’t possible so I’m very pleased to welcome Gemma Maldar…
