Introduction:
Nowadays an uncountable number of new business opportunities have came out in the world. In
Bangladesh, it has become a progressive surface for new business people. In this report, I would
like to say something about an emerging business that has reached a high level of success. It’s
Chaldal.com. Chaldal is an online shop in Dhaka which providing facilities regarding every basic
necessities that has made them a unique business organization. Here, I would like to express my
understanding to exploit critical business analysis of Chaldal.com.
Business Idea:
Zia Ashraf, founder and CEO of Chaldal.com came up with an amazing business idea to serve
people through providing their necessities at their door-step and at no additional cost.
Chaldal.com was founded on the beginning of 2013. Along with Zia Ashraf there are two other
Co-founder and CEO of Chaldal.com. They are Waseem Alim and Tejas Viswanath. We know
that in Dhaka, nowadays both husband and wife do job so it is tough for them to go to shop
everytime to by their basic necessities. They came up with this idea to do something new in
Bangladesh by using E-commerce(Hearing the story of Chaldal, 2015). Their goal is to give
customers the experience of shopping in a big box store with a huge selection.
Pricing strategy:
They try to provide quality product with law price. Their product price is lower than many other
shops upto 1 to 2%. They charge 40tk for less than 200tk order and they don’t take any charge
for more than 200tk order (Chaldal wants to become the amazon fresh of Bangladesh’s capital,)
Customer Service:
They launch their apps (launch their apps, 2015) to give better service to their customers. They
provide formalin free product for their customers. They ensure quality products for customers.
Customer can order product by using internet or their apps or by directly calling them. They

deliver their product within 1hour in Banani, Mirpur area and within 3hours in all over Dhaka
city. If customer doesn’t like any product they can give return the product within 7days and take
their money back or take alternatives(Successful entrepreneur with a solid initiative, 2017) .
Security:
Chaldal.com is very much conscious about customers security as well as their employees
security. They try to ensure their customer safety. If any customer face any problem they can
directly complain by calling them. Chaldal.com try to give solution instantly.
Competitive Advantages:
Competitive advantage is one of the most important elements for a business firm. Chaldal’s main
competitor is Direct fresh and Meenabajar(Chaldal wants to become the amazon fresh of
Bangladesh’s capital, 2015). Direct fresh sells organic products and Meenabajar is run by
grocery store chain. Chaldal.com try to give their service rapidly so that customer don’t need to
call them again and again. They have also available product for their customers around 4000.
Customer can easily choice their product from their website. These things keep them far ahead
from their competitors.
Opportunities and Risks:
Chaldal was a good initiative by its founder. They are doing well from their beginning. When
they started their business they don’t have any logistic company. They had to gave service by
their ownself. Now they are well establish in Dhaka city. They have a good opportunity to start
their business in other cities of Bangladesh. Though they are providing good service till now but
they have some risk of starting their business in other cities. If they can’t maintain their quality
they will lose their fame to their customers and can’t stay in the market for the long run.

Chaldal.com creating employment for more than 350 peoples(Successful entrepreneur with a
solid initiative, 2017) in their company and day by day their employee is increasing. They are
helping in economic development by decreasing unemployment.
Operational Excellence
Chaldal.com also has a useful business procedure. It uses technology like for tracking their
vehicles that ensures best possible quality services. Thinking as an entrepreneur its operational
excellence shows good example of operational excellence.
Future goals:
Their future goal is using drone for delivery. They want to give more rapid service to their
customers all over Bangladesh.
Personal opinion and experience:
I didn’t use Chaldal.com yet because they are not available in Sylhet city. I hope they will launch
their business in Sylhet soon and we can use their service and save our time and money.
