NASP HBCU Poster Final Version
This study examined the lack of school psychology programs at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and department chairs' knowledge and perceptions of the field. The researchers surveyed department chairs at HBCUs with graduate programs. Their findings showed that only 18% of chairs were extremely knowledgeable about school psychology. Additionally, 91% recognized the lack of diversity in the field but only 1% of HBCUs had school psychology programs. Most chairs believed developing such a program at an HBCU could increase diversity. However, many cited lack of faculty availability, administrative approval, financial resources and geographic location as barriers.

Course Description
This course will address issues related to counseling gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender clients. These include issues of sexual identity development, coming out, homophobia and heterosexism, family and relationship issues, multicultural issues, youth, aging, spirituality, HIV/AIDS, and substance abuse as well as ethical and professional issues in working with gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender clients through affirmative counseling/therapy.

Carlow's Mission Statement

Course Description
This course will address issues related to counseling gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender clients. These include issues of sexual identity development, coming out, homophobia and heterosexism, family and relationship issues, multicultural issues, youth, aging, spirituality, HIV/AIDS, and substance abuse as well as ethical and professional issues in working with gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender clients through affirmative counseling/therapy.

Classes will consist of didactic and experiential elements, including lectures, large and small group discussions, modeling, structured role-plays and simulations, live or video demonstrations, and student presentations in class and on CelticOnline/Schoolology. Primary methods include lecture/discussion, readings, and a variety of experiential exercises. Students will immurse themselves into the LGBTQ Cul.

Courtney Boddie introduces herself as a licensed professional counselor and professor offering clinical and consultation services for students who learn differently. She has over a decade of experience serving this population through roles such as tutoring coordinator, learning specialist, instructor for a program for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and mental health provider.
She provides an executive summary of the clinical services available for students, including ADHD assessments and therapy, multicultural counseling, and career development. She is also available to provide consultation services to the institution such as workshops and training on topics like teaching students who learn differently, introductions to specific disabilities, the neuroscience of learning differences, and disability law. UESP Parent

There are 4 phases of wound healing: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. This document also describes the mechanism of wound healing. Factors that affect healing include infection, uncontrolled diabetes, poor nutrition, age, anemia, the presence of foreign bodies, etc.
