Webinar 'End-to-end business monitoring @ MIVB'LoQutus
In this webinar LoQutus will give you an overview of the implemented solutions at STIB-MIVB for a better succession of the technical components of vehicles, sales equipment and devaluation machines. For this case we configured and integrated IBM Operational Decision Manager and IBM Business Monitor.
IBM Operational Decision Manager contains a CEP (Complex Event Processing) engine which is able to analyze a stream of technical events and to recognize business events using event patterns. A business event is used to determine the right business action on detection.
IBM Business Monitor is a BAM (Business Activity Monitoring) platform which is able to visualize KPI’s, dashboards, charts, drill-down analysis… based on captured business events. Personalized views support different business stakeholders with appropriate real-time business dashboards.
The installation, configuration and management of both platforms, based on real-time data feeds, introduced a number of challenges which will be discussed in this webinar.

SAP is one of the most popular technology in the world today allowing companies to run and manage their end-to-end business processes on one integrated technology platform. SAP NetWeaver allows companies to integrate third party systems and external web applications together with SAP core ECC system(s) there by providing a robust technology infrastructure. This helps enterprises which have already invested in other third party systems to preserve their investment to support their business growth. Now having said all about SAP, you all know that any SAP transformation project is a huge undertaking and every customer wants to put maximum effort and dedicated workforce to make the implementation successful.

Towards Auto-Extracting Car Park Structures: Image Processing Approach on Low...Poo Kuan Hoong
There have been numerous interests in the area of detecting availability of car park bay using image processing techniques instead of utilizing expensive sensors. An area that has been neglected in doing so is the initial calibration of the image capturing device on the need to determine the car park structures. This paper proposes a technique that addresses this issue, using the limited processing capabilities of embedded systems. The results are promising, where in its current form, is semi-automated calibration for the car park structure detection and further enhancements can be made, to make it completely automated

As the worldwide business climate has grown increasingly complex – due to globalization, consolidation, governmental regulation, labour issues, financial pressures, supply chain management and security concerns – the purview of “operations management” has expanded.
Operations management is the business function that plans, organizes coordinates and controls the resources needed to produce a company’s goods and services.
It is mainly concerned with managing the process that converts inputs into outputs.
It closely interacts with the accounting, finance and human resource management function in an organization.
Pharmacy is a highly competitive industry, and companies are experiencing financial pressures more than ever before.
Hence OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT IS THE CENTRAL CORE FUNCTION OF EVERY COMPANY

The Great State of Design with CSS Grid Layout and FriendsStacy Kvernmo
For far too long we've been forced to reuse layout patterns that have worked in the past, creating a web full of sites that all look the same. Narrow timelines, browser support restrictions and lack of a true grid system have led us to create work that is "good enough".
I've spent years exploring how we can make the web a more unique space. With some of the newer CSS techniques available, we can start to make more creative designs. CSS Grid Layout is on the horizon and will play a major role in the design of our sites. Finally having a true, 2 dimensional grid will give our layouts much more flexibility and it is on us to explore the possibilities.
This talk was presented at CSS Day 2016.
