We can also use though instead of although.
though + Subject + Verb
Ex. Though Mike was sick, he went to school

4. in spite of / despite
In this case we use a noun, a pronoun after it.
in spite of / despite + noun, pronoun
Ex. My father came to take me home despite the rain.
My father came to take me home in spite of the
rain.

5. even though
Even though is the strong form of although.
Even though + subject + verb
Ex. Even though she was really sick, she went to
school.

6. However
Even though is the strong form of although.
however+ subject + verb
We can use however before adjectives, or adverbs to
enphasize these words
Ex. However she was really sick, she went to
school.
However tired, she went to the class.
