Operational amplifiers (op-amps) are linear integrated circuits used in applications such as communication and medical electronics to sense and amplify signals. An op-amp consists of transistors, resistors, and a capacitor, and has two inputs and a single output. There are several configurations of op-amps including inverting amplifiers, non-inverting amplifiers, summing amplifiers, and difference amplifiers. Logic gates are digital circuits with one or more inputs and one output that processes digital signals. Common logic gates include OR, AND, NOT, NAND, NOR, and EXOR gates.
This presentation discusses operational amplifiers (op-amps). It begins with an introduction to op-amps, their components, and their usefulness for amplifying weak signals. Next, it covers the characteristics and math of ideal and real op-amps. The presentation then describes different types of op-amp circuits and their applications, including filters. It concludes by discussing the history of op-amp development and providing references.
This document provides information about the diac, including its structure, operation, and applications. It discusses how a diac is a bidirectional semiconductor device that can be switched from an OFF state to an ON state with either polarity of applied voltage. When the applied voltage exceeds the breakover voltage, the diac begins conducting. Diacs are commonly used to trigger triacs in applications like light dimmers and heat controls to smoothly vary the output voltage through phase control of AC power.
The document defines key terms related to network topology and graph theory, including circuit elements, nodes, branches, paths, loops, and different types of graphs. It provides definitions for each term and discusses how they relate to representing electrical networks as graphs.
This document discusses contactors, magnetic starters, and relay timers. It provides the following key details:
- Contactors are relays that switch high current loads and use a small control current to energize or de-energize connected loads. Magnetic starters include motor overload protection.
- Relay timers can be used to create on or off delays. An on delay timer will keep contacts closed for a set time after being energized. An off delay timer will keep contacts open for a set time after being de-energized.
- Wiring diagrams are shown for different types of on and off delay timers using normally open and normally closed contacts. The document also compares NEMA and IEC magnetic
Operational amplifiers (op-amps) are electronic devices used to amplify signals. An ideal op-amp has infinite gain, infinite input resistance, zero output resistance, and outputs zero voltage with zero input voltage. Real op-amps have high but finite gain. The basic op-amp has two inputs - inverting and non-inverting - and an output. There are three open-loop configurations - differential, inverting, and non-inverting amplifiers. Op-amps are used in applications like filters, oscillators, analog-to-digital converters, and more.
This document discusses single-phase induction motors. It describes how they use two perpendicular windings and a capacitor to generate a rotating magnetic field for starting torque. The operating principle is explained using double revolving field theory, where the pulsating magnetic field is divided into two fields rotating in opposite directions. Starting torque is generated through the interaction of these fields with current induced in the squirrel cage rotor. Shaded pole motors, a less effective but cheaper alternative, use a shorted winding in parts of the poles to generate an unbalanced rotating field for starting.

The bistable multivibrator has two stable states that it will remain in indefinitely until triggered to change states. It can be triggered to switch from one state to the other by a single external pulse, with the first state having one transistor on and the other off, and the second state being the opposite. Bistable multivibrators are also known as latches or flip-flops and can be used to store one bit of memory, for counting circuits, or to divide the frequency of an input signal in half.
An amplifier takes a weak audio signal and boosts it to a stronger signal that can drive a speaker. It does this through a process of multiple boosting stages within the amplifier. At the heart of most amplifiers is a transistor, which uses variations in its electrical resistance controlled by a small input signal to modify a larger output current supplied by the amplifier's power source. This allows it to accurately reproduce the original audio signal but at a higher volume level suitable for the speaker.
This document discusses sinusoidal steady state analysis and phasors. It introduces representing sine waves with phase using phasors, which characterize a sinusoidal voltage or current using just amplitude and phase angle. Circuits containing resistors, inductors and capacitors are examined, showing their phasor relationships: voltage and current are in phase for resistors, voltage lags current by 90 degrees for inductors and leads current by 90 degrees for capacitors. Impedance is defined as the total opposition to AC current, consisting of resistance and reactance. Phasor diagrams provide a graphical method to solve circuit problems by showing the relationship between phasor voltages and currents.
This document introduces a simple low power inverter circuit that uses an IC CD4047 to generate a square wave that switches transistors connected to a transformer. The transformer converts the DC input to a 230V AC output. The circuit uses common components like capacitors, resistors, transistors, diodes and a transformer. It has advantages of providing clean output and requiring little maintenance while its disadvantages include limited capacity and inability to drive inductive loads. Potential applications include powering devices from DC sources and serving as portable AC power sources.
This document describes a study that designed a fuzzy logic controller for a boost DC-DC converter using MATLAB/Simulink software. The objective was to develop a fuzzy logic algorithm to control the output voltage of the boost converter in steady state conditions. Simulation results showed that the fuzzy logic controller was able to maintain the output voltage with no overshoot, unlike the open loop converter which had 80% overshoot. In conclusion, the fuzzy logic controller improved the dynamic performance and stability of the boost converter compared to an open loop design.
1. The document discusses single phase transformers on load and no load conditions with vector diagrams and approximate equivalent circuits.
2. It explains that under no load conditions, the primary current lags the voltage by an angle less than 90 degrees due to iron and copper losses.
3. Under load conditions, the secondary current induces an opposing magnetic field, reducing the primary current increase until the core's magnetic field is restored to its original strength.

The project involved designing a simulation circuit for a flyback converter with an input of 12V DC and output of 240V DC. The report includes chapters on the operating principle, simulation, results, and conclusions. The key findings were that the flyback converter was able to step up the input voltage to the desired output level, and the output voltage, current, and input voltage waveforms were obtained through simulation as desired. The switching element used was a MOSFET due to its high power rating and switching speed.

Tensione alternata sinusoidale
produce l’energia elettrica:
5
Una spira di materiale conduttore rotante
a velocità uniforme immersa in un campo
magnetico:

16. Tecnologie Elettriche Elettroniche e Applicazioni / Installazione e Manutenzione Impianti - Ing. Pasquale Alba 2016
Potenza in continua
In corrente continua (DC):
16
P=V*I
17. Tecnologie Elettriche Elettroniche e Applicazioni / Installazione e Manutenzione Impianti - Ing. Pasquale Alba 2016
Potenza in alternata
17
In corrente alternata (AC):
p(t)=v(t)*i(t)
T=1/ƒ
v(t) = V ⋅ cos(ωt) = V ⋅ cos
(
2π
T
t
)
i(t) = I ⋅ cos(ωt + ϕ) = I ⋅ cos

T
t + ϕ
)
18. Tecnologie Elettriche Elettroniche e Applicazioni / Installazione e Manutenzione Impianti - Ing. Pasquale Alba 2016
Potenza in alternata
18
P(t) = V ⋅ cos
(
2π
T
t
)
⋅ I ⋅ cos
(
2π
T
t + ϕ
)

Potenza in alternata
19

Potenza in alternata
20
21. Tecnologie Elettriche Elettroniche e Applicazioni / Installazione e Manutenzione Impianti - Ing. Pasquale Alba 2016
Potenza in alternata
21
Potenza apparente: S = V*I = P + Q ove:
Potenza attiva: P = V*I*cos(𝝓) [W]
Potenza reattiva: Q = V*I*sen(𝝓) [VAr]
cos(𝝓) è definito:
“cosfi" o “fdp” (Fattore di Potenza) o PF (Power Factor)
Potenza in alternata monofase

Confrontiamo le due espressioni:
e
zero.
P = V ⋅ I P = V ⋅ I ⋅ cos(ϕ)
(in continua) (in alternata monofase)

Caso reale
24

Penale e fatturazione potenza reattiva
obbliga a rifasare l’impianto
reattiva fino a circa 1€/kVAr

315°). Lo sfasamento tra i due è 😬=45°.
I è sfasata di -45° rispetto a V oppure V è sfasato di +45° rispetto
a I.
disegnata a 0°.

RIFASAMENTO
29
Il RIFASAMENTO di un
carico serve a ridurre la
potenza reattiva e consiste
nel rimettere il più
possibile in fase corrente
e tensione, cioè a ridurre il
loro sfasamento reciproco
in modo da minimizzare la
potenza reattiva.

somme in modo semplice.
La corrente totale It=Im+Ic si ottiene
sommando Ic che scorre nel
condensatore di rifasamento, alla
corrente Im che scorre nel motore
elettrico. La somma deve essere

54. Tecnologie Elettriche Elettroniche e Applicazioni / Installazione e Manutenzione Impianti - Ing. Pasquale Alba 2016
Rifasamento Introduzione
• La maggior parte dei
rifasatori è trifase perché i
carichi e i consumi più alti
sono prevalentemente
trifase.
• Inoltre quasi tutti i carichi da
rifasare sono parzialmente
induttivi (motori) quindi il
rifasatore è formato molto
spesso da condensatori (più
raramente da induttori)
54
55. Tecnologie Elettriche Elettroniche e Applicazioni / Installazione e Manutenzione Impianti - Ing. Pasquale Alba 2016
Rifasamento automatico
• Il rifasatore ha un controller
che inserisce o disinserisce i
condensatori per tendere ad
ottenere un cos𝜙 il più
possibile alto (vicino a 1). Un
valore di 0,95 induttivo è
considerato buono.
• Sono vietati carichi capacitivi
cioè con corrente in anticipo.
• Un controller “a 5 gradini”
inserisce o disinserisce fino a
5 banchi di condensatori
55
56. Tecnologie Elettriche Elettroniche e Applicazioni / Installazione e Manutenzione Impianti - Ing. Pasquale Alba 2016
Rifasamento dei carichi trifase
L’unica differenza tra
rifasatore mono e
trifase è che nel
trifase i condensatori
sono a gruppi di 3
collegati in parallelo
al carico (di solito a
triangolo).
56
57. Tecnologie Elettriche Elettroniche e Applicazioni / Installazione e Manutenzione Impianti - Ing. Pasquale Alba 2016
• I condensatori vengono inseriti
o esclusi mediante dei
contattori
• Sono presenti anche delle
resistenze o impedenze che
limitano la corrente di picco
nei condensatori
• Tra i guasti più frequenti:
a) lo sfiammamento dei
contatti dei contattori;
b) l’esplosione dei
condensatori.
57
Installazione di un rifasatore automatico
58. Tecnologie Elettriche Elettroniche e Applicazioni / Installazione e Manutenzione Impianti - Ing. Pasquale Alba 2016
Amperometrico o Current Transformer) come sensore

63
ϕf ϕi
ϕi = arccos(cos(ϕ))
Qr = P ⋅ [tan(ϕf) − tan(ϕi)]

C = Qr / (𝝎V2)
C totale diviso 3.
