This document discusses the evolution of customer data management from siloed systems to a centralized Customer Intelligence Management (CIM) system. It describes three eras: 1) Customer Data Integration (CIF) era with batch processing and flat files 2) Customer Data Integration (CDI)/Master Data Management (MDM) era using relational databases for a normalized customer profile. 3) The current CIM era using technologies like Apache Hadoop, machine learning, and graph databases to centralize all customer data and insights and continuously learn from the data to improve intelligence. The CIM system aims to overcome limitations of existing systems like CRM, MDM, data warehouses by managing both structured and un
