11:15 AM Call to Order
Cheryl LeJune called the meeting to order and welcomed members and guests. There were no
corrections to the November minutes.
Committee Reports:
Curriculum
The Fall 2011 semester is almost over. Attendance at classes was good throughout the
semester. The Spring Schedule is being printed and will be mailed to members shortly.
Additional copies will be available in the CE office. The schedule will also be posted online.
After the holidays and winter break, we will pull the curriculum committee members together
to start planning for the Summer (very light – maybe one class a week on Tuesdays) and Fall
semesters. If you know anyone that would like to participate with the Curriculum Committee
please invite them to the meetings. The committee needs people that will get involved. Also let
me know if any current committee members find that they have time constraints which will
prohibit them from participating with the committee. We really need people who are willing to
put in a bit of time and effort to schedule class speakers (submit completed speaker information
forms) and facilitate the classes.
A big Thank You goes to all of the committee members for their efforts. Keep up the good
work!!

Bus Trips
On December 22 we visit Santa’s Wonderland. We will take a hayride along the winding trail of
lights over a mile long. It is estimated that there are over two and a half million lights on
display. After the hayride we will visit Santa's Town, Texas Christmas Village featuring retail
shops, live musical entertainment, Santa's Cafe, etc. We will spend approximately 2 hours
there. We will have dinner at Mallet Bros BBQ in Navasota on our way to Santa’s Wonderland.

2. When this report was written, twenty seven (five) people have confirmed that they are going,
five have not responded and there seven openings. E-mails were sent to those on the wait list
but so far no positive replies. An announcement will be made at the holiday social if there are
still openings.
Our trips for the first quarter are:
February 7: narrative tour of Pct 3 (south)
March 20: narrative tour of Pct 3 (north) Both are free
We are on a wait list for a bus in January.

Events
We will have a planning meeting for the Spring Open House on January 6, 2012, 10 AM in HSC
106. We will discuss what changes were helpful at the last open house and what could be
improved. The open house is scheduled Saturday, January 21, 2012, 10AM to Noon.

Communications
Gene reports that we have 532 members.
I show that we have 415 contacts in paid status, 161 contacts in non-paid status and 8 contacts
in guest status, giving us a total of 584 contacts in our email list. Using just our paid contacts
we show that approximately 22% are for more than one person which is less than last school
year. Also, using just our paid contact approximately 28% of our contacts are male.
We continue to provide support to other programs on campus by sharing their information with
our members. Those programs include Friends of the Library, Think Factory, Center for the
Arts, LIFE, and others.
