 Singapore, an island city-state was founded as a British trading colony in 1819.
 It joined the Malaysian Federation in 1963 but was ousted two years later and became independent in
1965.
 Singapore a global financial center with a tropical climate and multicultural population, and is a global
commerce, financial and transportation.
 the country has ranked high on the national policy of its leading in Asia and 11th worldwide on the
Human Development Index (UN), especially on the important step of education, health, life expectancy,
quality of life, personal safety housing.

Geography and Climate of Singapore
Location:
Southeastern Asia,
island between
Malaysia and Indonesia.
Climate:
Singapore has a tropical rainforest climate with no distinctive seasons.
 Uniform temperature and pressure, high humidity, and abundant rainfall. Temperatures
usually range from 22 to 35 °C (72 to 95 °F).
 April and May are the hottest months, with the wetter monsoon season from
November to January.
Natural Resources:
Fish, Deep-water ports, Coal, oil and natural gas, but in very limited amounts
Environment Issues:
From July to October, there is often haze caused by bush fires in neighboring Indonesia,
usually from the island of Sumatra
Industrial pollution( limited natural freshwater resources, limited land availability
presents waste disposal problem.)

wind down your day with 3-5 more hours of homework.

Singapore, but he refused the offer.
THE PRIME MINISTER LEE HSIEN LOONG
Born 10 February 1952.
3rd and current PM of Singapore since 2004.
Older son of Lee Kuan Yew, the first PM of Singapore.
As the Secretary General of the People’s Action Party (PAP),
he became PM in August 2004, and succeeded Goh Chok
Tong (Wu Zuodong).

How Singapore be ready for AEC :
Ready Ready for jobs opportunities : Singapore has the good Education system which make
Singaporean easier to compete in jobs opportunities.
to be the City of ASEAN : Singapore is one of the most developed country in ASEAN so they
are trying to improve their transportation, securities and infrastructure to compete with
another developed countries to be the City of ASEAN.
Ready for competing in Business : While opening up to the market is highly encouraged for
the ten-member nations, adapting to the AEC may become a double-edged sword for
Singaporean businesses. So Singapore must be well-prepared to compete with those in
business.
 How Singapore be ready for AEC : (Continued)
 Ready for Tourism : Since Singapore is one of the beautiful country, It will try
everything to attract tourists to it country. Before entering another ASEAN countries,
tourists must cross Singapore first. So Singapore will take this opportunities to attract
the tourists to its country.
 Ready for investment : While AEC reduce taxes of import and export in every ASEAN
countries, Singaporean Company take this chance to looking some ASEAN countries
to invest in.
 Singapore joined ASEAN
on 8th August 1967.
