This document discusses rational and irrational numbers and their behavior when multiplied. Rational numbers can be written as fractions or ratios and when expressed as decimals they either terminate or repeat. Irrational numbers cannot be expressed as fractions and their decimal representations go on forever. When two rational numbers are multiplied, the result is rational, but when a rational number is multiplied by an irrational number, the result is irrational.
