Air pollution is defined as any physical, chemical, or biological agents that can modify the natural characteristics of the atmosphere. There are two types of air pollutants: primary, which are emitted directly, such as carbon monoxide, and secondary, which are formed when primary pollutants react or interact in the air, like ozone formation from photochemical smog. Air pollution can cause various health issues including respiratory diseases, skin cancer, brain and kidney damage, eye irritation, heart disease, and asthma.
