Could it augment students’ aspirations in learning ESL? Could it increase students’ persistence in ESL? Could it enhance students’ positive perception of activities related to learning ESL.
Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

An Overview of Case Studies About the Influence on Multiple Intelligences on Teaching Language (Suleyman Celik)
1. An Overview of Case Studies About the
Influence on Multiple Intelligences on
Teaching Language

2. Abstract
There are more intelligences than g-factor and
those intelligences learn in different ways. Teaching
language to those different intelligences needs
different methods and activities. Howard Gardner
introduced eight different intelligences and each of
the intelligences has different characteristics.This
study provides a brief overview of the case studies
which have been done through different ages and
grades. Also this article suggests some new specific
ways to the educators to incorporate the multiple
intelligences into their daily lesson planning.
Finally it allows each learner to recognize their
strengths and limits, solving the age of dilemmas.
3. Method
• The study was conducted in qualitative
research approach in which the action
research review technique has been used.
• Purpose:The purpose of this study was to
investigate the implementation of Multiple
Intelligences Theory in an educational setting
by overviewing an action research.
4. Participants
• It was carried out with a third-grade
classroom in Washington, each group was
integrated between 3 or 4 participants
• Why does the investigator chose this
desig? In personal opinion, I consider that
this type of research is suitable because it
leads to be near, to concentrate, to
know ,and to study the way how people
learn in a deep way so that you get more
concrete results at the end by means of
the instruments and activities which have
been used.
5. Instruments
• All students learn each day's lesson in
seven ways.They build models, dance,
make collaborative decisions, create
songs, solve deductive reasoning
problems, read, write, and illustrate all in
one school day.
• It was used schedules, observation and
sheets ir order to do it.
6. Data collection
• The teacher organized his third-grade
classroom into seven learning centers,
each dedicated to one of the seven
intelligences. The students spend
approximately two thirds of each school
day moving through the centers—15 to 20
minutes at each center. Curriculum is
thematic, and the centers provide
seven different ways for the students to
learn the subject matter.
7. Procedure
• To implement Gardner's theory in an
educational setting, the teacher organized his
third-grade classroom into seven learning
centers, each dedicated to one of the seven
intelligences. These are the seven learning
centers: Personal Worked Center (Intrapersonal
intelligence),Working Together Center
(Interpersonal intelligence), Music Center
(Musical intelligence), Art Center( Spatial
intelligence),Building Center (Kinesthetic
intelligence),Reading Center( Verbal/Linguistic
intelligence) and Math Science Center
(Logical/Mathematical intelligence)
8. Data Analysis process
• With the aim of gathering the data first relevant
literature reviewed. Books, dissertations and
articles which are related to topic has been
gathered and all those items have been
examined carefully. Also it was asked to
experts‘ ideas. In the process of gathering the
data generally electronical database of the
university has been used. Case studies
which had been done to implement the MI
theory in educational settings have been
searched and also interviewed with a few of
the teachers who had implement the MI
theory in their classrooms.
9. Results
• The research data revealed the following:
1.The students develop increased
responsibility, self-direction, and
independence over the course of the year.
2.Discipline problems were significantly
reduced.
3.All students developed and applied new skills.
4. Cooperative learning skills improved in all
students .
5. Academic achievement improved.
10. Conclusion
• The implementation of the MI theory in the
English language teaching offers a better
understanding of students‘ learning
preferences and a greater appreciation of
their strengths. Students likely become
more engaged in learning as they use
learning modules that match their
intelligence strengths that, in addition,
increase students‘ engagement and
success in learning.
