workshops, where everyone can
find out some information about
traditions, habits and activities of
Kurpie.

A person who breeds forest bees
called „borówki”. He was named
BARTNIK from forest hives which
we called BARCIAMI.

Pottery is one of the oldest
crafts. On Polish lands
pottery appears about 5400
years B.C.

This person made from
wicker baskets, dishes and
furniture which were very
useful in daily life.

In Kurpie modeling dough
figures was tradition in this
region. They decorate Kurpie
cottages.

many women cut from paper

colourful works used to decorate
homes.

amazing sculptures,

wood, mostly of religious
character.

For a long time, creating
beautiful, colourful palms
for Easter has been our
tradition. The highest one
was 35 meters high!

One of the most important
cultivation in Kurpie were fibre
plants - linen and hemp.
Linen yarn was used to do
different kinds of fabric.
