IT Security has long been a concern for organizations both large and small. While most concerns originated from traditional infrastructure standpoint, today’s more complex IT environments now must address IT Security issues across a more diverse and complex “meshed” IT environments addressing WAN/LAN, private and public based Cloud, as well as mobile and VOIP networks. Our speakers addressed emerging issues and trends as they relate to IT Security and provided insights as to how organizations and entrepreneurs can prepare and protect themselves in building and maintaining secure IT environments.

Applying this approach however, is hard. We'll show how to start with microservices while doing live coding. You can learn how to start and what to look for starting with microservices. We will build a system with multiple services, service discovery, load balancing, failover and automatic deployment. The technologies we use: Amazon AWS, Consul, Packer, Ansible, Terraform, Go, Python.

Slides from my DevOpsExpo London talk "From oops to NoOps". They tell you in these conferences that DevOps is not about tools, but about culture. And they are partially right. I am going to tell you that it’s not only about culture or tools but also abstractions. It is a lot about how you see software and its value. About our mental model of what software is: how it runs, evolves, and interacts with the other facets of an enterprise. We used to view software as code. As a state of code. Now we think about software as change, as a flow. A dynamic system where people, machines, and processes interact continuously. At Platform.sh we spend a bunch of time asking ourselves not “How do you build?” - or even “How do you build consistently?” - but rather “What does it mean to consistently build in a world where change is good?” A world that lets you push security fixes into production as soon as they’re available because you don’t want to be an Equifax but you do want stability. In this presentation, I will go over what we think software is and why having the right ideas about software will help you get your culture right and your tooling aligned, as well as gain in productivity, and general happiness and well-being.

The talk is about how startups think, build on the idea and try to sell it, until it is influenced by external factors like market and competitors. A lack of strong product owner didnt help as well. Agile, is a technology and is prone to failure as well, until it is practiced right.

With the advent of microservices , containers and on demand computing and the rate at which code is getting churned out every single day we need to automate or perish. DevOps or Build at Scale and how to have a hands free approach like autonomous cars is what companies need the most today. It is no longer OK to say we build it someone will test it and certify it , it needs to happen in real time and all at once the Build, Automate and Test in a continuous pipeline. How can companies stay on top by effectively making use of Automation shall be looked at in this talk.

In this high-level, philosophical talk, Scott draws from 25+ years of experience in digital product strategy and design to take a critical and sometimes controversial look at processes that claim to promote innovation but too often fail to deliver. He also highlights some principles and practices that seem to promote real innovation and help it survive the perilous journey from the minds of innovators to the hands and hearts of users.
