In a bid to bring the Advertising and Marketing (A&M) industry closer, Social Samosa is set to launch its 'Agency Premier League'. Here's a guidebook to answer all your FAQs.
2. GENERAL FORMAT:
Each team should comprise ten members, with eight actively participating and
two serving as substitutes. We welcome and encourage participation from
individuals of all genders, however, it is mandatory for each team to include a
minimum of two female players.
The league matches will adopt a Round-robin format, featuring five overs for each team.
Each bowler is limited to a maximum of one over, and it is mandatory for a female player
to bowl the third over of the inning.
The semifinals will comprise eight overs per team.
Three bowlers can bowl a maximum of two overs each.
The final match will consist of ten overs each side.
Five bowlers can bowl a maximum of two overs each.
The fixtures will be shared two days prior to the league.
The bowling team must strive to complete their allocated overs within a 15-minute
time limit during the round-robin matches. Failure to meet this timeframe will result
in a penalty of 3 runs.
Every team should reach the ground 30 minutes prior to the scheduled time.
If the team is not available on time, then byes will be declared to the opposite team.
Players are expected to engage in fair play and maintain a spirit of sportsmanship
and harmony. Any instances of misconduct will incur a penalty and in severe
circumstances, may lead to the disqualification of the entire team.
Fiber bats are not allowed.
Players won’t be allowed to wait inside the turf area while other matches are going on.
No ball will be followed by a free hit.
Stumping is allowed on no-ball and wide balls. In the case of stumping, the ball will
be counted only on the no ball and not on the wide ball.
The act of Mankading is permissible, but a preliminary warning will precede any
subsequent enforcement of the rule. If the action is repeated after the warning,
the player will be declared out.
Ball Pitching outside the pitch will be called a no ball.
At the beginning of each inning, a new ball will be provided to the bowling side.
A new batsman will face the next ball if the previous batsman is caught out.
Entrance to this league is restricted to agency personnel exclusively; participation
is limited to individuals employed within these agencies. Thorough evaluations will
be conducted to ensure that no external participants gain access.

3. BATTING RULES:
If a ball hits a side net and runs to the boundary, four runs
A female batter is required to bat following the dismissal of the first wicket.
In the event that the batter must vacate the crease for any reason other than
playing a shot or completing a run, it is imperative that they inform the umpire.
Failure to do so may result in the batter being declared out if the opposition team
successfully appeals for a run-out or stumping.
BOWLING RULES:
Spin and Normal Pace Underarm bowling is only allowed.
A side arm or Chakri is not allowed. Side arm will be judged on release
if the ball (if a bowler releases the ball from above the waist, it will be judged
as a no-ball).
Fast bowling is not allowed. Umpires have every right to call it a no-ball if a
bowler bowls fast or sidearm. Fast bowling will be completely the umpire's call.
There is no ball if the bowler touches a box line. While bowling, if the ball pitches
more than once, it will be declared "no ball" and a free hit will be given.
The bowler must ball within the given box, i.e., bowling crease.
Usual No ball, wide ball, byes, and overthrows will be applicable.
The bowler is required to communicate to the umpire the intended side and arm from
which they will be bowling.
Any change in the wicketkeeper must be promptly conveyed to the leg side umpire;
failure to do so may result in the delivery being deemed a No ball. It is important to
note that at the commencement of a new inning, the wicketkeeper is exempt from
this notification requirement; however, it applies whenever a change occurs during
an inning.
During the bowling action, at least a portion of both feet must be in contact with
the ground, with either the heel or toe grounded.
Ball hit outside the turf would be considered out.
Third over to be bowled by in team playing women.
4. TOURNAMENT RULES:
The Non-Striker must stand completely inside the stump box.
Captains/Players should not make requests such as extension of time,
exchange/addition of players, discounts, increase in price money, etc.
Teams must be ready for change in fixtures of the tournament; the management
team has full right to change it according to the situation. Any changes will be
discussed only with CAPTAINS and no other team members should interfere.
Organisers have full rights to DISQUALIFY any team, if they create any ruckus
over the umpire's decision.
The Team Captain is responsible for informing all the teammates about when
the team will be playing. Management’s responsibility is to tell the captain on
the schedule.
The management and turf owner have full rights to take legal actions against
any players who threatens or abuses any members from the management team and
refuses to leave the turf premises.
Umpire decision will be final, and no arguments will be entertained with the umpire.
Umpire in any of the above situation may call off the play considering win to the
opponent’s team.
Hit wicket will be out
Stumping and run out will also be considered as out.
No LBWs
No adjustment in group pool.
SCORING RULES:
In case of NO BALL and WIDE 1 run will be given to the opponent team
Byes and Leg Byes are allowed
1 run will be given in case ball goes outside the Box / Ground after some
distraction (not directly). Players no need to swap the side to get that run.
Batting team can get extra runs in case of overthrow
5. PAYMENT DETAILS
All the online transfer of the nomination fees are accepted via Instamojo.
Please note all entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
If the nominating agency wants an invoice from Social Samosa, government taxes
like GST will be applicable over and above the nomination fee. Please get in touch
with the Social Samosa representative for the invoice.
Payment is received only via cheque, NEFT/RTGS or Instamojo.
All payments must be made in Indian Rupees.
Price quoted are exclusive of government taxes.
