This document summarizes a fundraising panel presentation by Elizabeth Ngonzi, CEO of Afrika Tikkun USA. The panel discussed how non-profits can define their success to donors by showcasing the quality of their organization, partnerships, stewardship of funds, and impact. Afrika Tikkun USA works to help disadvantaged South African youth break the cycle of poverty through their cradle to career development model. They partner with corporations, foundations, and the government of South Africa and have received support from Nelson Mandela.
On March 16th 2017, Brand South Africa and the Embassy of the Republic of South Africa hosted their inaugural 'Global South Africans Networking Reception'. The event, with the theme 'Play your Part', provided opportunities to global South Africans to identify opportunities in which they can contribute to the progress of South Africa.
Elizabeth Ngonzi, the CEO of Afrika Tikkun USA, Inc.-- the North American representative of of Afrika Tikkun-- was invited to speak about how the South Africa-based organization is creating opportunities and uplifting local South African township communities. Afrika Tikkun for the last 22 years, has played their part by addressing the consequences of institutionalized oppression in South Africa. Founded by the late philanthropist and businessman Bertie Lubner, Afrika Tikkun focuses on investing in youth, knowing they represent the future of the country. Afrika Tikkun's vision inspired the-then President Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela to volunteer as its Patron-in-Chief-- an honor that he only bestowed on four organizations, during his lifetime. In 2002 he wrote,“[Afrika] Tikkun demonstrates in a practical and sustainable manner what can be done with limited resources, great commitment and passion. It is my belief that [Afrika] Tikkun represents the best of what civil society can offer in partnership with Government’s considerable efforts.”
Our bespoke BLM Executive Development Programme will cover leadership, culture and collaboration in an interactive fashion, and as importantly, enable all members of the Leadership team to play an active part.
René will lead and facilitate the whole programme, bringing in high calibre executives to share their ‘lived experience’.

#FRO2020 Digital Storytelling to Attract International FoundationsElizabeth (Liz) Ngonzi
Digital storytelling to attract international foundations:
How to access, attract, and engage international foundations online
In our ever-increasingly digitally connected world, NGOs from around the world potentially have the opportunity to access the $150 billion in annual philanthropic giving by the 260,000 foundations worldwide. Unfortunately, many NGOs lack the information necessary to understand how to go about doing so.
In this webinar, participants will learn about how to leverage effective digital storytelling to attract, inspire and engage with international foundations online, while differentiating themselves from the more than 10 million NGOs worldwide, through:
- Use of a storytelling framework that catalyzes international donors and demonstrates the credibility necessary to overcome common challenges faced by organizations engaging with geographically dispersed donors.
- An understanding about how to research and connect with international donors and which online platforms to use to tell their own stories.
This practical 30-minute webinar will also provide links to valuable resources to conduct further research on your own and to take steps to begin your NGO’s journey to access, attract and activate international foundations.

Russian anarchist and anti-war movement in the third year of full-scale warAntti Rautiainen
Anarchist group ANA Regensburg hosted my online-presentation on 16th of May 2024, in which I discussed tactics of anti-war activism in Russia, and reasons why the anti-war movement has not been able to make an impact to change the course of events yet. Cases of anarchists repressed for anti-war activities are presented, as well as strategies of support for political prisoners, and modest successes in supporting their struggles.
