Program Improvement Tool: What we've learned so far.VolunteerMatch
Over 250 hunger-fighting organizations have used the Program Improvement Tool to evaluate their volunteer engagement programs. Come hear about what we've learned about the tool, the organizations that have used it, and the benchmarks that we're developing.
If you haven't yet explored the tool you can find it here http://causes.volunteermatch.org/hungerservice This tool was developed for hunger-fighting nonprofits by VolunteerMatch in partnership with ConAgra Foods Foundation.
What You'll Learn:
Aggregate information on the hunger-fighting organizations that have used the tool so far.
Trends in volunteer managment and volunteer engagement in hunger-fighting organizations.
Benchmarks that can be developed based on initial information gathered by the tool.
Funding nonprofit talent is a vital but often overlooked piece of the grantmaking puzzle. This webinar offered an in-depth examination of talent-focused grantmaking and nonprofit leadership development. It was led by the President and CEO of the Talent Philanthropy Project (and EPIP’s Founder and former Executive Director), Rusty Stahl as well as Stephanie Andrews ( Leadership Development Director at the Bush Foundation) and Tom Fuechtmann (Program Officer at the Community Memorial Foundation) - two funders with extensive experience in this work. Rusty, Stephanie and Tom discussed how factors are necessitating this shift; how these practices are being implemented on the ground; and how to explore talent-focused grantmaking in one’s own work.

Driving Member Engagement by Showing #VolunteerLoveBillhighway
Mark your calendars: National Volunteer Week is April 19-25th! It’s the perfect opportunity to start thinking about ways to show your chapter volunteers the appreciation they deserve all year-round. Volunteering is one of the stickiest forms of member engagement, and happy volunteers can keep your association chapters on track for years to come. Given that 20-25% of staff labor in associations come from volunteer members, it’s a worthwhile effort to utilize recognition in creating a supportive environment. Let’s draw from research and our own community for a dynamic discussion on ways to spotlight association volunteers and celebrate volunteering in all aspects!

CCAT Interpretation Session - Si Texas ConveningTCC Group
This workshop, held for Social Innovation Fund subgrantees in Brownsville, TX in January 2016, helped participants prioritize areas in which they can build their organizational capacity in order to accomplish their programmatic goals. With each grantee’s respective CCAT report in hand, attendees became familiar with the four core nonprofit organizational capacities necessary to remain sustainable and successful, their organizational lifecycle stage, report recommendations, as well as an organization’s capacity needs and readiness to tackle areas in need of improvement. The presenters also highlighted the context in which the CCAT exists – more specifically, Capacity Building 3.0, a targeted capacity building process and framework grounded in the notion that building the capacity of all actors in any social sector ecosystem depends on the development of "relational capacity. “ This was an interactive session during which each team had the chance to interpret its organization’s CCAT report, and walk through six critical diagnostic prioritization steps – leaving the workshop with a clearly defined action plan with well-articulated priorities, team roles, and an operational timeline.

Russian anarchist and anti-war movement in the third year of full-scale warAntti Rautiainen
Anarchist group ANA Regensburg hosted my online-presentation on 16th of May 2024, in which I discussed tactics of anti-war activism in Russia, and reasons why the anti-war movement has not been able to make an impact to change the course of events yet. Cases of anarchists repressed for anti-war activities are presented, as well as strategies of support for political prisoners, and modest successes in supporting their struggles.
