This study examines the importance of business education and managerial skills in enhancing Nigeria's struggling economy. It identifies five key benefits of business education for economic development, including enabling self-employment, developing proper work values, spending resources wisely, career retraining, and preparing students for the workforce. The study also outlines several important managerial skills taught in business education programs, such as leadership, communication, human relations, conceptual thinking, critical thinking, design, finance, project management, creativity and entrepreneurship. It concludes that strengthening these skills in business education curricula can help boost employment, reduce economic dependence, and overcome Nigeria's economic challenges.
