The Government has initiated the launch of a national Multi-Skill programme called Skill India.This programme would skill the youth with an emphasis on employability and entrepreneur skills.It will also provide training and support for traditional professions like welders, carpenters,cobblers, masons, blacksmiths, tailoring, nursing and weavers etc. We also need skilled personnel in various areas like, construction, real estate, textile, transportation, jewelry designing, gem industry, tourism, banking and various other sectors. Skill development raises the confidence, gives direction and improves productivity. Youth should be groomed towards blue collar jobs.
Human resource is an essential determinant of economic growth and development. It consists
of different factors like education, health, migration, vocational training and (information
technology) IT development vocational training and skill development are among them.
Vocational training improves the productivity and production and enhances the efficiency of

This report investigates student awareness, interests and aspirations around general and vocational education. Using a survey administered to students from class 10 to undergraduate students in four town of four district of Odisha (Khurdha-Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Bhadrak and Jajpur), we attempt to gain a better understanding of student aspirations, awareness levels, sources of information, key stakeholders and factors that influence their education and career choices. We then map student interests against sectors that are slated to experience the highest growth in terms of job creation. Our results indicate aspirations of students are largely misaligned with the needs of the Indian economy. It is important to create opportunities, generate awareness about various career options and the respective pathways available to realize career goals. The report outlines the key strategic options that can be considered to bolster the country’s response towards creating a skill development system that is responsive both to the aspirations of the youth and needs of industry.

One of the thrust areas for increasing the competitiveness of MSMEs includes skills development. Skills development not only helps in improving productivity but also fosters entrepreneurship. Hence, it is imperative for the concerned governmental agencies, trade associations and MSMEs to come together and discuss on how to make training programmers relevant and attractive for MSMEs. The lack of human resources has been a long-standing problem faced by MSMEs in the country. Despite India’s large pool of human resources, the MSMEs continue to lack skilled manpower required for manufacturing, marketing, servicing, etc.
With a headcount of around 1.4 billion in 2015, India is expected to become one of the most populous nations by 2025. The country’s population pyramid is expected to “bulge” across the 15–64 age bracket over the next decade, increasing the working age population from approximately 761 million to 869 million during 2011–2023. Consequently, until 2020, India will experience a period of “demographic bonus”.
India needs to poise itself to take advantage of this “demographic bonus”. Today, India has to focus on increasing the skilled workforce in the country, which is a dismal 2 per cent compared to 96 per cent in South Korea, 80 per cent in Japan and 75 per cent in Germany.
Given the thrust on landmark reforms like “Make in India”, both Government and industry have endorsed that the focus on Skill Development has to take priority.
Given the structural changes and the industry friendly policy changes, the January issue of the Policy Watch is a sincere endeavor to get sectoral industry views on skill development through the voices of the Chairmen of National Committees and Regional Chairmen of the various skill Sub-Committees.
Entrepreneurs Level of Education and Performance of Selected Manufacturing Fi...ijtsrd
This study was necessitated by the perceived unimpressive performance of the Nigeria manufacturing sector when compared to other developing economies. It therefore examines entrepreneurs level of education and performance of selected manufacturing firms in Anambra state using multiple econometric models. Findings reveal that there is no significant relationship between entrepreneurs with non degree certificate and the return on investment of the selected manufacturing firms in Anambra state. Entrepreneurs with degree certificate were identified to have significant positive relationship on the return on investment of the selected manufacturing firms in Anambra state. Based on the analysis and findings of this study, the researcher therefore recommends that degree and higher education certificate awareness for entrepreneurs and intending entrepreneurs by the government is important to enable them develop the intellectuality for growing a business. This will help address the challenge of business failures. Agencies that regulate manufacturing firms should formulate policies that will facilitate the acquisition of higher educational qualification by entrepreneurs, because of its potential in improving firms' growth performance. India ranks among the lowest in percentage of students enrolled for Skills Education. To get some perspective China has about 10 times, and Germany 14 times the percentage of students undergoing vocational training every year.
In the 15-29 year age group, among those in the hands-on labourforce, only 2% would have been formally trained and 8% acquire skills on the job. And of those that receive formal training only 3% secure employment. The starkness of the picture is apparent when one considers the numbers at hand – 12.8 million people entering the workforce every year.
The cost of an ill-trained workforce? Poor productivity. Despite appreciable improvements, workforce productivity for India is amongst the lowest, not just in the world but within Asia as well. The demand-supply mismatch – in terms of the inability of education to be able to feed employable skills into employment – is grave.

Purpose:Technical education in India contributes a major share to the overall education system and plays a
vital role in the social and economic development of the nation. Despite of rapid growth of technical
education in last decade in terms of the no. of institutes and intake capacity in India, institutes failed to
attract enrollments. Last three years saw, increasing gap in between the actual no. of enrollments and intake
capacity; 46% of seats were vacant in Technical Education in India in 2015. The purpose of this paper is to
highlight institute’s role in promoting enrollments in Technical education.
Design methodology: A qualitative research by a survey (through a structured questionnaire) of students
who are presently enrolled (Current-students) and those who have completed their study (Alumni) belonging
to the institutes offering Technical Education situated in Khandesh region of India and affiliated to the
North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon.
Findings: The study found that diversified characteristics of enrollments are related with the promotion mix
of TE institute in selection of technical educational institute. This study investigates the usefulness of school
visits, institution publications, websites, campus visits, word-of-mouth (friends, alumni, school teachers),
advertisements (radio, television, magazines) and events on campus, as a tool of promotion. Social
Networking and Institute’s Website are the new forms of promotion mix in selection TE institute in rural
part of India.
Research limitations: The survey is delimited to the enrollments of technical education belonging to North
Maharashtra University, Jalgaon and located in Khandesh region of India.
Practical implications
60-70% of population belongs to rural part of India. Different promotional strategies of promotion mix can
be used based on geographic and demographic segmentation. This will enhance, making awareness,
fondness regarding Technical Education in the rural part and will act as lubricant in decision making of
selecting their technical educational institute.

Evaluation of Human Resource Management Practices on the Productivity and Per...IOSR Journals
The objective of any organization or firm is to achieve higher productivity. The concept of Human Resources within organizations is very vital in the management and survival of any organization; this is because their performance is influenced by a set of human resource practices. The main focus of this study is to determine if human resources management practices (Human resources (HR) Planning, training and development) affect productivity and performance of Transport Organizations. The human resource management practices or HRM practices have to be addressed in this position, in order to examine productivity and performance of the organization. In analyzing the data, both descriptive and inferential statistics were used. A total of 75 questionnaires was distributed out of which 60 was returned. Result of analysis showed that training and development enhances productivity of transport organizations and also adequate human resources planning promotes employee productivity and organizational performance. It is therefore recommended that all level of employees receive adequate training and proper human resource planning should be in place to promote productivity and performance of the Transport industry in Nigeria.

Employment Training Institutes (RUDSETIs) in 1982 and thereafter in select locations across the country. The
success of the model culminated in replication of it with the name Rural Self Employment Training Institutes
(RSETIs) across India at the behest of Government of India with the support of respective State Governments.
This vividly tells that the qualitative short-term crash training courses (Entrepreneurship Development
Programs-EDPs) of these RUDSETIs, ranging from one week to six weeks’ duration, offered under a congenial
learning ambience leads to rich value-addition among the unemployed youth which results in their going back
to their respective areas after the training with high self-confidence and starting small business enterprises
either on their own or with some bank finance. While the paper examines, in general, the role being played by
the RUDSETIs with their unique training methodology in promoting self-employment among the unemployed
youth, it does so, in particular, to understand in detail the activities of one of its units located at Vetapalem (now
shifted to Ongole) in Prakasam District of Andhra Pradesh, India.

Overwhelming presence of anticlockwise rotated fabric elements, producing S-C structure in phyllite/ phyllonite and in meta-greywacke, along with frequent presence of ‘alpha’ and ‘delta’ type structures, strongly asymmetric ‘S’ and at places ‘Z’ shaped folds and the sheath folds suggest that the ductile shearing with a sinistral shear sense is spread over the entire WNW trending sinuous arm of Mahakoshals. This belt has a strong manifestation on the imagery, maintaining a cross cutting relationship with the ENEWSW trending fabric of the main Mahakoshals and appears to be superposed over it. Evidences suggest it to be a wide and extensive shear zone.

Where strategic analysis tools are explained, this is most frequently done conceptually rather than
their actual application in strategic planning. Shortened systematic strategic planning (SSP) consists of
a pattern of stepwise procedure for straight-forward planning, and the fundamentals involved in any
strategic planning project. SSP has been applied to and tested on different businesses’ subject issue and
has been generated by the composition of the cause-and-effect relations of them. The intention here is
to provide a new perspective and benefit for the strategic planners by introducing this new systematic
methodology and demonstrating its implementation on an entrepreneurial and new business called
Visual Co. Accordingly, let shortened version of SSP easily understood and universally applied to any

Here, we report the synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) by utilizing extract of Psidium guajava. In
this study leaf was with extricated alcohol, further this extract is utilized for the preparation of nanoparticles followed by treatment with silver nitrate solution. Color change from colorless to dark-yellow and

Introduction
Skill development is an important driver to address poverty reduction by improving
employability, productivity and helping sustainable enterprise development and inclusive
growth. It facilitates a cycle of high productivity, increased employment opportunities,
income growth and development. However, this is just one factor among many affecting
the productivity whose measurement differs for individuals, enterprise and economy.
The increase in productivity could be due to availability of skilled & healthy manpower;
technological up gradation and innovative practices; and sound macroeconomic strategies.
The manifestations of improved productivity can be in the form of improvement in real gross
domestic product (economy), increased profit (enterprises) and higher wages (workers). This
study is looking into the relationship between skill development and productivity with focus
on India. However, to begin with it is necessary to understand what constitutes productivity
and how it is measured at different levels. Productivity which explains an input-output
relationship is a crucial factor whose benefits can be distributed in several different ways
such as better wages and working conditions to workforce; increased profits and dividend to
shareholders; environmental protection; and increase in revenue to Governments. This helps
both the enterprise and country to remain competitive in the domestic and global market
respectively [1-10].

Abstract
This paper analyses the current scenario of skilled workforce of Indian Economy and future requirement
of skill development. The paper also outlines skill gap in various sectors, the key issues and policy
implications to address those issues and challenges in Skill Development and Productivity arena. Today,
India is one of the youngest nations in the world with more than 62% of its population in the working
age group (15-59 years), and more than 54% of its total population below 25 years of age. Its population
pyramid is expected to bulge across the 15-59 age group over the next decade. It is further estimated that
the average age of the population in India by 2020 will be 29 years as against 40 years in USA, 46 years in
Europe and 47 years in Japan. In fact, during the next 20 years the labour force in the industrialized world
is expected to decline by 4%, while in India it will increase by 32%. This poses a formidable challenge
and a huge opportunity. To reap this demographic dividend which is expected to last for next 25 years,
India needs to equip its workforce with employable skills and knowledge so that they can contribute
substantively to the economic growth of the country. As India moves progressively towards becoming a
global knowledge economy, it must meet the rising aspirations of its youth. This can be partially achieved
through focus on advancement of skills that are relevant to the emerging economic environment. The
challenge pertains not only to a huge quantitative expansion of the facilities for skill training, but also to
theequallyimportanttaskofraisingtheirquality.Skillsdevelopmentisthesharedresponsibilityofthekey
stakeholders viz. Government, the entire spectrum of corporate sector, community-based organizations,
those outstanding, highly qualified and dedicated individuals who have been working in the skilling and
entrepreneurship space for many years, industry and trade organizations and other stakeholders. The
policy links skills development to improved employability and productivity in paving the way forward
for inclusive growth in the country. The skill strategy is complemented by specific efforts to promote
entrepreneurship in order to create ample opportunities for the skilled workforce. Skilling need to be
an integral part of employment and economic growth strategies to spur employability and productivity.
Coordination with other national macroeconomic paradigms and growth strategies is therefore critical.
