Content of the Test-Papers I and 2
The test, which is concerned rith functional English, will assess the following eight
areas, namely, the candidates' abilities to:
l. write clearly and neatly;
2. spell correctly, punctuate simply, clearly and appropriately and use eorrect
grammar;
3. compose letters concerned with employment, letters offering and requesting
information, letters making and confirming arrangements;
4. complete forms of various tytr)es;
5. comprehend written and spoken material and in particular to:
(u) understand the overall meaning of both written and spoken English,
(b) make appropriate use of given information to complete further exercisesl
6. seleet and amange information in appropriate sequence;
7. condense information into short notes and expand given information;
8. deal with querieso complaints, requests for information and directions.
