Retail Media in the EU and What You Can Learn from Success and Failures in th...Elizabeth Marsten
Retail media allows retailers to monetize their digital real estate by selling advertising space to brands and advertisers. In the last 5 years, retail media has reached $30b USD in advertising revenue and is predicted to continue growing. In contrast, it took social media 11 years to reach $30B USD in advertising revenue and it took search 14 years. The wave of retail or commerce media has already hit the shores of the EU but it’s just getting started. The list of retailers fast mimicking with networks of their own in mold of Amazon is swelling – Tesco, Sainsbury’s, ASDA and Morrison’s in the UK to REWE, Lidl and Kaufland to name a few, have already launched and continue to innovate and are pushing to compete for marketing spend. In this session, Elisabeth, who is a regular contributor to AdWeek on retail media and works with media channels, such as Walmart, Target, Instacart, Kroger, Criteo Retail Media and more will go over the nuances of retail media, questions to ask, mistakes to avoid and how you can ride the wave instead of having it crash over you.

Enter the Remix: Paid Search Advertising in eCommerceElizabeth Marsten
Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, Amazon Advertising – what do all these have in common? Besides the major re-branding and re-focusing of their main messages to several levels up from where we might think of them historically, they’re also ushering in some important signals for what paid search marketers need to prepare for and think bigger about. Sure, we’ll continue to have the day to day overall duties stay highly tactical with shared budgets, QS improvements, to bid manually or not debates and best practices in aggregate over the coming years, but we are going to see some fundamental landscape changes in the next 2 years in a faster and more impactful manner than we have in the last 10 years of search marketing.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

14. Create a shell campaign targeted to the content network, automatic placements- relevant pages across the network. Target to all devices or whatever your preference and set the maximum CPC to $2 at minimum, $4 for CPM. (If you’re after view through conversions, go with the CPM setting.) Add a site address in the managed placements list as a placeholder and pause that site. Leave the ad group active. In settings, set the frequency cap for the amount of times you want to remarket to users, this is particularly useful for CPM campaigns, CPC can forgo this. If you typically utilize demographic targeting on the content network or have a very specific audience that you use it for, you can layer it into the remarketing settings. However, it will only apply to sites that Google has access to demographic info for- like MySpace, YouTube, etc; It won’t do anything or have minimal impact on any other sites. If you plan on remarketing to a specific demographic of users in MySpace than go ahead and implement those settings. Populate the ad group with your favorite text and/or display ads. Add in your usual list of negative sites or placements if you’ve got any. Later on, you’ll be able to add in negative audiences as well. (See the very end of the post for more on this.) For ad display settings- optimize or rotate, works the same as on the regular content network. Save and then click on that audiences tab, cause it’s time to start creating some remarketing lists and custom combinations!
24. Some options are through YouTube only, like Promoted Videos But you could do it…for $200,000. The cost of a branded channel.

Editor's Notes
You can generate tags at this step or choose “select from existing tags.” If you generate new tags, the code will be presented to you once you save and click on the Tags/Rules column. If you click on “select from existing tags” the field will populate with your saved conversion tracking definitions from your AdWords Conversion tracking settings. Keep in mind, which ever you choose, it cannot be changed later, this is a permanent setting. (You can edit the cookie duration, name, description and even which tags, but once a segment is created, it can’t be deleted. Mark the segment as “closed” and it will no longer appear as a choice for a marketing list, nor will it apply to your account, it stays in a paused state.)
To get started on a custom combination, you’ll need to have the remarketing lists you want to work with already set up. In this case, I have two set up- one for those that completed a transaction and one for those that added an item to their cart, proceeded to checkout to the sign in page and then left.
Don’t forget about negative audiences! Don’t forget! You’re excluding a type of group of user, not sites themselves.
