2.  There are 160 breeds of dogs that are in the
world but I love all types of dogs. My top three
favourite dogs are Cairn Terriers, Yorkshire
Terriers and Airedale Terriers.

3.  Cairn Terriers are one of the oldest terrier breeds.
They originated from Scotland, and they are the
earliest working dogs. In the early days they
chased off rodents, foxes, and badgers. Cairn
Terriers come in four different colours which are
brown, black, white, and grey. Cairn Terriers are
small with shaggy coat that gives tem a “scruffy
look”. They live up to 12-15 years. Cairn Terriers
are also famous dogs , one of them have appeared
in the movie The Wizard of Oz as Toto. Cairn
Terriers are big diggers and they are very active
and happy dogs.

5.  Yorkshire Terriers are developed in the 1800s. They
are named after the place in Yorkshire, England,
where there were also developed in. Many people
call them Yorkies. They are small dogs that are long-
haired, also their coats are silky and blue, black, and
brown. But when they are born they have coats that
are black with tan spots. Yorkies are very brave,
bold, and active for their size. Another nickname for
a Yorkshire Terrier is a “Purse Dog”. They are called
this because, sometimes you can see a Yorkie in a
females purse. They live up to 13-15 years. Pasha,
Patricia Nixon Cox’s dog lived in the White House
while, Richard Nixon was president.

7.  The Airedale Terrier originated from Airedale, a
geographic area in Yorkshire, England. The
Airedale Terrier is “The King of Terriers” because
they are the biggest dog of the Terrier breed. They
can live up to 12 years. An Airedale Terriers coat is
hard, wiry, and dense, it covers the body and the
legs. In England this breed is trained to be a police
dog. Airedale Terriers tale are supposed to be
shortened within 5 days of birth. They are also
called Waterside Terriers because, they hunt Otters
in the Aire River. They love to swim, they are
intelligent, independent, energetic, strong-minded,
and can be stubborn sometimes.


9.  Overall there are all kinds of dogs that are full
of energy, they are lovable, cute, funny, and
will always be mans best friend. Not all dogs
are pets, some help the blind, and others are
trained to work with police. All kinds of dogs
have their own personality, but inside they are
all the same.
