The Metrics That Matter: How to Measure Social Media ROI With Meaningful DataCindy Meltzer
Measuring ROI of social media marketing is, in many ways, more straighforward than measuring the impact of traditional media. The data is plentiful-- we just need to identify what metrics are most important.
This presentations reviews how to set goals that will frame your measurement efforts and highlights 2-3 top metrics for each of the most popular social media marketing channels such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Pinterest. We review and often forgotten metric-- cost savings, and discuss how to connect your social media metrics directly to your bottom line-- sales and conversions.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Editor's Notes
Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is an awesome organization to get involved with!Today we are going to talk to you about what they do and how you can get involved!
Children’s Miracle Networks or CMNH is a non-profit organization that raises money to help hospitals and families in need. CMNH raises money that helps support medical research and training, purchases medical equipment and helps families pay medical bills that have been uncompensated. These children could be in the hospital for a number of different reasons. It could be anything from a broken bone or even a child who is sick with cancer.
Tammy & Kelsey took a trip to Christus Santa Rosa Hospital where the San Antonio Children’s Miracle Network Hospital for San Antonio is stationed to take a look around!
We chose to work with CMNH because of the amazing work they have been doing for the past 30 years. Since it has started in 1983 CMNH has raised over $4.7 billion (dollars) and has opened 170 hospitals all across the United States and in Canada. These are kids that live down the street from us or could even be your next door neighbor! 62 children enter a CMNH hospital for treatment every minute, that’s one child every second! I think you can now see why this is such an awesome organization to want to be a part of!
Thanks to CMNH this little boy will be able to live a long healthy life!
The objectives to for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals are simple:-Raise awareness about what they do-Increase the number of volunteers and volunteer hours-And to help people to understand that they do all of this $1 (dollar) at a time.
Our target audience is college students! This is due to the sheer number of students in the metropolitan San Antonio area (approximately 26,268 at The University of Texas- San Antonio alone). In addition, our studies have shown that they have more of an inclination to give to non profit programs. When asked if they would at least donate $1 support research and training, purchase equipment, and pay for uncompensated care, to save and improve the lives of local youth an overwhelming ninety-seven percent answered with a resounding “yes”, and of that percentage, 85% believe that $1 dollar will make a difference.
We must appeal to the college students interests as well as provide two things that most of our target audience are constantly lacking and on the lookout for: food and money. According to our survey 86% said they would attend if there were free pizza and drinks. Hence our “Dealing in the Healing” casino night fundraiser is sure to be a big hit because they provide college students with all of the above and for a good cause.
Our “Dealing in the Healing” Casino night with give the students something fun to do on a Saturday night while helping with a good cause. We will be holding our casino night at the UTSA campus in ballroom 1 on Saturday, July 27th. There will be a $25 dollar cover charge that will include-their poker chips for the evening, food and drink tickets and access to live music and dancing.$25 is the same amount of money, if not less than they would spend on going out to dinner and a movie! It was one of our goals to inform the students about the charity. Our research shows that an overwhelming 97% of students we asked would indeed help sick children that cannot afford medical attention, but only 53% actually know about Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Because of this we will be having several speakers come in to speak to the students while they are at the Event. We will have one person come in and talk about the charity itself and how they can continue to help. Also we will have a family come in that has benefited from the charity to tell their story of how CMNH has helped them and also to thank them for donating their time and money to the cause.
At the end of the night the top three people with the post playing chips will receive a prize. We will also have a donation box to encourage CMNH’s goal of increasing the awareness of how $1 (dollar) at a time can make a big difference. To give the students a visual demonstration we will pin up a balloon logo/per ever $! (dollar) donated to show how big of an impact just $1 (dollar) can make.Next we will show you our online commercials to advertise our event!
We Hope to See you at “Dealing in the Healing” Casino night!Saturday, July 27th at the UTSA campus in ballroom 1!
