The Shauna Ann Stuewe Foundation was started after 14-year-old Shauna passed away from sudden cardiac arrest during cheer practice. The foundation aims to raise awareness of SCA risks in youth and provide AEDs in schools. It provides education on heart issues and has donated over 25 AEDs to schools in Orange County. The foundation is run by Shauna's family and friends and holds various fundraisers to spread awareness and save more lives from SCA.

2. About the foundation This foundation started when Shauna passed away at the age of 14 from Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). She collapsed at cheer practice and was later pronounced dead at the hospital. SCA also includes heart arrhythmia and heart diseases that are rare in this world and no one really knows about. 3. Facts about Our Foundation For every minute that passes without an AED is a 10% less chance they will survive.

4. Continued At least 4,000 people under the age of 18 die every year from SCA. AED’s could save as many as 50,000 Americans each year. On average, it takes EMS teams 6-12 minutes to arrive.

5. Mission We are committed to the cause of raising public awareness about the risks of SCA in our children. Our mission is to promote pre-screening of our young athletes and to raise fund to provide Automatic External Defibrillators (AED) in schools and other public places. As of right now, we have allotted AED’s at about 25 schools just in Orange County and are trying to spread our word out of the states.

6. Our Goal Our goal is to educate young adults, but mainly parents and coaches about heart diseases and to get AED in our schools where teams practice so if this happens to anyone else, they have a higher chance of being saved.

7. Inputs Shauna’s family and friends are the board of our foundation. We do many different kinds of funding to raise money and to spread the awareness of SCA.

11. Personal Connection Shauna was one of my best friends, and losing her at the age of 14 was the hardest things I have ever had to go through. Her life was curtailed from SCA. I have been helping with this foundation from the very start and it is a huge part of who I am.
