I. TITLE: 2024 QUALCI PRESS CONFERENCE
II. RATIONALE
Campus journalism plays a significant role in
the school community as the student-
journalists exercise press freedom through
responsible writing. It fosters connectedness
through stories, news, and media. Pursuant to
Republic Act (RA) No. 7079, also known as
Campus Journalism Act of 1991, and its
Implementing Rules and Regulations (1RR)
specifically Rule IX of Section I, Quality
Learning Circle (QuaLCi) 3 strongly supports the
said Department of Education’s program.

This 2024 Qualci Press Conference to be held on
February 9, 2024 at Tukuran Technical-
Vocational High School (TTVHS) Tukuran West
District is purposely done to prepare all qualified
journalists for the upcoming 2024 Division
Schools Press Conference set on February 29-
March 2, 2024. This shall be facilitated by the
Qualci manager, Qualci journalism coordinator,
district supervisors, district journalism
coordinators, district association presidents and
vice presidents, ICT coordinator of the host
district and to be participated by the top 5
placers for individual events and the 1st placers
for group categories.

III. OBJECTIVES
A.Terminal Objectives:
1.demonstrate understanding of the importance
of journalism by expressing it through
different journalistic endeavors and
approaches;
2.sustain advocacy on social consciousness and
environmental awareness;
3.recognize the role of journalism in advocating
for social consciousness and environmental
awareness;
4.promote responsible journalism and; fair and
ethical use of media;
5.enhance journalistic competence through
healthy and friendly competitions.

V. IMPACT
This conference will help journalists to demonstrate
understanding of the importance of journalism by expressing it
through different journalistic endeavors and approaches, to sustain
advocacy on social consciousness and environmental awareness, to
recognize the role of journalism in advocating for social
consciousness and environmental awareness, to promote
responsible journalism and fair and ethical use of media enhance
journalistic competence through healthy and friendly
competitions.
It fosters 21st century skills and character-based education
through campus journalism. Student-journalists can learn how to
use technology, communicate effectively, think critically and
creatively, and develop moral values and personal discipline
