 Research Question:
 Is there a positive correlation between students
whose parents use this resource and student’s
submission of assignments?

that parents who use Parent Connect made a
significant impact on their child’s completion of
work assignments.
 It did appear that the parents who did access
Parent Connect were parents of students who had
low grades in the past.
 Comparing students’ number of missing
assignments in a short period of four weeks may
not be a long enough timeframe to determine the
correlation of parents using Parent Connect to
the rate of students completing their work
assignments

7.  In the outcome of the survey, it appeared that
most students were aware that their parents were
checking their grades on a regular basis
 This factor may have had an impact on their work
completion rate in the absence of parents
actually checking their students’ grades on
Parent Connect.
 In my opinion the parents whose child has
difficulty or struggles in school are using Parent
Connect to assist them in working with their
child to encourage academic success.
 Because there is a minimal number of missing
assignments it appears that students’ low grades
are not due to lack of work completion.

8.  It was difficult to determine if the use of Parent
Connect had a significant impact on students’
performance and reduction of missing
assignments since there were only a few missing
assignments reported.
 I did think there was evidence in comparing
transcripts with the number of views from
parents that showed students with a history of
low grades had the most views by their parents
on Parent Connect, which leads me to infer that
this reporting system has some validity in
encouraging students to improve and maintain
higher academic performance with
encouragement from their parents.
