What is MCA? And NCLB? And AYP? Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments Test given to students in grades 3 rd  - 11 th  grade Provides us with Edina’s State Report Card NCLB stands for No Child Left Behind AYP stands for Adequate Yearly Progress If students don’t do well on the MCA, Edina doesn’t meet AYP and we have to deal with NCLB! What is NWEA? And MAP? And RIT? NorthWest Evaluation Association Company that administers our  MAP  tests What does  MAP  stand for? Measures of Academic Progress:  a test given once or twice a year in grades 2-6 The  MAP  test gives each student a  RIT  score .  RIT  stands for Rasch Unit . The  RIT  score shows the instructional level at which the student is currently performing.   EDINA PUBLIC SCHOOLS
What is RTI? Response To Intervention A method of academic intervention designed to provide early, effective assistance to children who are having difficulty learning  3 Tiers of Service for all students EDINA PUBLIC SCHOOLS
