The ACOT Model outlines 5 levels of teacher progression in understanding how information and communication technologies (ICTs) can impact student learning: entry level focuses on learning basics of new technology; adoption uses new technology to support traditional instruction; adaptation integrates new technology into existing activities; appropriation develops new approaches through cooperative projects; and innovation discovers entirely new uses for technology tools.
