No Exit Existentialism
The drama, No Exit by Jean Paul Sartre, is about three characters, who made ruthless decisions during their time on earth and are now left in hell to torture one another. The anecdote s setting takes place in hell, where the three characters reveal their horrendous crimes which led to their eternal suffering at the hands of one another. The drama portrays existentialism, which is the idea that the existence of an individual as being free and responsible in determining their own choices whose consequences they must face.
A particular scene from the drama, which defines existentialism effectively is, when Estelle was seeking a mirror. Upon not finding one, Inez volunteered to be her personal mirror. Repeatedly, Inez kept on flirting with Estelle, who in return wanted Garcin s affection. Meanwhile, Estelle explained that she had six mirrors in her bedroom that she constantly needed to look at to remind herself of her existence. Finally, Estelle allowed Inez to be her mirror. What terrifies us the most is the prospect of that which has no image, like Estelle s vision of the man without a face, the victim of her callousness in life. The absence of an image signifies an absence of identity. And without identity, what becomes of existence? And, in existentialism, without existence, what becomes of

West Side Story The Musical Essay
West Side Story The Musical
*No Works Cited
West Side Story is one of the most influential musicals of all time. It s integration of dance and song into the plot was very innovative, because even though it had been done before, it had never been done this well. Jerome Robbins had thought of an adaptation of Romeo and Juliet to a Broadway musical in 1949. He began discussions with librettist Arthur Laurents and composer Leonard Bernstein of a musical called East Side Story, with a plot concentrating on a Catholic girl and a Jewish boy. At first, the critics were not able to fully appreciate the magnitude of the achievement, but one critic, Brooks Atkinson wrote that the ballets convey the things that Laurents is inh

Inez teased Estelle, who worried if they shared the same taste or whether her lipstick was on correctly....show more content...If a man does not know what he looks like, how can he be sure he is not someone else? It is our self image that separates us from the others.

Other projects forced the work aside for six years, and when they returned to it, times had changed. Their idea became West Side Story, (another early title was Gangway!) and the Montague Capulet...show more content...The Latin American rhythms gave Bernstein a good musical base to start from, and the whole score benefited from a jazzy Manhattan feel, which had been inherited from Gershwin, as well as Copland s romantic Americana feel. Robbins choice of a cast was very meticulously done. He wanted a real feeling that had never been reached before in Musical history. He wanted actors that were not well known, and that would get his theme of reality across to the audience. During rehearsals he actually separated the Jets and the Sharks and didn t allow them to socialize or even talk to one another. He also didn t allow the actress playing Anybodys to eat lunch with anyone at all. The show opened on Broadway on September 16, 1957. At first, the critics were not able to fully appreciate the magnitude of the achievement, but one critic, Brooks Atkinson wrote that the ballets convey the things that Laurents is inh

Accountability In Nursing
1. Accountability in Nursing
Introduction Responsibility is defined as the "reliability, dependability, and the obligation to accomplish work", responsibility also includes each
person's obligation to perform at an acceptable level, the level that the person has been educated (KellyâHeidenthal, 2003, p. 268). Accountability is
defined as, "being responsible and liable for actions or failure of actions of oneself or others in the context of delegation" (NCSBN, 2009). This is in
reference to the nurse's legal liability for the actions taken and patient outcomes. Accountability and responsibility are different, as responsibility
belongs to the person doing the task and accountability belongs to the person who assigned the task. The nurse is both accountable for the...show more

This is the legal liability the practitioner owes to the patient. By accepting the responsibility to perform a task the practitioner must ensure the task is
performed competently at least to the standard of the ordinarily competent practitioner in that type of task. If a practitioner such as a registered
nurse should delegate a task, then that practitioner must be sure that the delegation is appropriate. This means that the task must be necessary; and
the person performing the delegated task, for example a HCA, must understand the task and how it is performed, have the skills and abilities to
perform the task competently and accept responsibility for carrying it out One common mistakes exhibited by professionals in the field is delegation
of duties by persons. Nurses should be wary of delegating duties to health care assistant because nurses should be aware of the abilities of the person
with whom he or she is delegating duties. This is to minimize any chance of poor service delivery. Poor patient attendance by a person tasked with the
duty at the time of delivery will extend the liability to the nurse delegating duties. Accountability of nurses is clearly pinpointed and well within the
realm of law. A nurse is accountable to all the patients he or she is expected to attend to. Such accountability as underlined by common law helps
promote safety of all patients. Accountability to the profession is one other important aspect that provides an

2. Military Accountability Essay
Being late does not make one important. Tardiness is a very unattractive quality when it comes to most aspects of one's life: family functions,
meetings, interviews, and especially a job. While a family may forgive tardiness, a job will not. Being late once or twice in one's life is
unavoidable. Being consistently tardy makes one unreliable and shows a lack of respect for other people's time and obligations. Being late tells
others that one person can be waited on, while everyone else can't. People do not like when their feelings were not taken into consideration, when they
took the time to consider others. Punctuality is a very important part of military life for several reasons. one reason is that if someone is late for a patrol

What could have been done the night before? Punctuality is a habit. It's a matter of creating the routine and sticking with the routine. Punctual
people will be winners everywhere and will be one step ahead of the others. Planning ahead will contribute to being punctual, less stress, and the
ability to navigate around unforeseen circumstances. This all helps avoid difficult situations as far as time is concerned. This show of respect will
also command respect from others. Someone who shows, over and over, that they are the master of their time is someone who will be taken seriously
in areas far removed from time management. That foresight and adaptability that gets you where you need to be, when you need to be there, tells the
people around you that you can handle whatever is thrown at you. When it comes to the military certain things are automatically expected of a person.
One of the most important expectations is time management and being on time. Every day there are any number of places a soldier is required to be
at a certain time and as the old saying goes, "if you're not fifteen minutes early, you're late no matter the situation." Some soldiers understand the
importance of showing up fifteen minutes prior to an event or scheduled activity. To others, it makes no sense at all. Extreme as it may sound, when
dealing with the number of people that

3. Essay on Accountability in Army
A Soldier's Accountability A soldier of the United States Army has many values that are set forth in the "Soldier's Creed." The Soldier's Creed
states: I am an American Soldier. I am a Warrior and a member of a team. I serve the people of the United States and live the Army Values. I will
always place the mission first. I will never accept defeat. I will never quit. I will never leave a fallen comrade. I am disciplined, physically and

It could be argued that the Soldier's Creed deals with many different forms of accountability. In general, the purpose of accountability is placing
responsibility on someone expecting them to take ownership and maintain the same values that were asked of them. So, how does accountability
pertain to the United States Army? The military gives the definition of accountability as the obligation imposed by law or lawful order or regulation on
an officer or other person for keeping accurate record of property, documents, or funds. The United States Army has instated regulations to govern
accountability and to define security concerns that may come with failed accountability. AR 190â11 states: Individuals issued arms are responsible for
their security at all times. Each issued weapon will be carried on the person at all times. Weapons will not be entrusted to the custody of another
person. Pistols will be secured with a lanyard. AR 190â16 defines: That part of security concerned with physical measures designed to safeguard
personnel, to prevent unauthorized access to equipment, installations, material, and documents and to safeguard them against espionage, sabotage,
damage, and theft. A lot of the main structure of the Army is placed on accountability. For instance, leadership's accountability of where a soldier is at

4. The Concept of Accountability Essay
Accountability is a subject that ranges through every spectrum of life. From simply knowing your food supply by opening the refrigerator, to
knowing the exact amount of ammunition a military convoy has at its disposal, down to each individual round. When we know what the situation is,
and hold each person responsible for they're actions in the situation, that is the concept of accountability at its root. If we are not to hold each other
responsible for each of our own actions and choices then we will never be able to correct problems and concerns, which will make us fail as a whole
because the smallest individual action can account for the gravest of concequences. In this essay I'm going to show how important accountability is in

in leadership positions and billets but that is not the case when it applies to everyday occurances. The ones who personally handle the weaponry,
update/alter documents, use funds, and ultimately carry out the orders from above are the primary foundation of the pyramid of accountability. If the
person who is in charge of the task, property, document of funds has to pass on these tasks to the people who are actually going to use it then the
responsability of accountability in regards to those things becomes temporarly the full responsability of the bearer. He/she must keep the person in
charge of him informed of any and all significant changes, especially those that were not predetermined, because those are the situations that are not
covered by standard protical and the person in charge must be informed so as to set a protical, temporary or permanent, for that situation. If the bearer
of the responsability does not inform his superior then he will have to take the consequences of they're actions, as stated by the Webster's Unabridged

I am in a unique and fortunate position as coâowner of my organization. My role encompasses many areas from administrative, financial all the way to

Accountability affects your everyday life without you even realizing it. At this point in our lives it is no longer a job but a part of life and a sign
of responsibility. Another sign of maturity is holding yourself accountable for your own actions. If you are one of those people who goes around
making excuses for everything you do, people will begin to lose faith in you, and in turn you will not only lose your credibility but their trust as
well. After a certain point excuses become less relevant or believable and you are seen and/or treated as if you were lying. No leader likes the "It
wasn't my fault", "I was gonna", or "see what had happened was" guy/gal and you shouldn't want to be him/her. It is always better to hold yourself
accountable for your own actions, you will gain a lot more respect that way. Once again accountability plays a major role in the quality of your
everyday life and the lives of those around you as well. Good accountability or a lack of accountability can mean the difference in somebody
getting paid the right amount or even at all. It could be the difference of receiving a tax refund or paying the state more than what you owe. It could
be your children returning safely from a field trip or sending out an ABB or Amber Alert. It could even mean the life or death of a friend whether

This essay will be about the importance of keeping the accountability of sensitive items. The US Army values soldiers that are accountable for their
actions. The accountability of sensitive items affects the unit in many ways. AR 710â2 and AR 735â5 both cover the Army policy for property
accountability. Some sensitive items are your weapon, military ID card, commo equipment, etc. Sensitive items are anything that can be used by
opposing forces or the enemy to counter attack, weaken forces, and gain intel, and so on. People will sometimes get relaxed (complacent) or
