This document provides instructions for accessing and using the Compustat and Globalvantage databases through the Research Insight application on Tealware. It outlines a 3 step process: 1) Log into Tealware and launch Research Insight. Install necessary plug-ins if needed. 2) Open Research Insight and select the default North American (Compustat) or Global (Globalvantage) database. 3) Create a report by searching for a company ticker, selecting the Report Assistant and Historical Analysis, adding all desired items, and specifying a date range.

Go to https://tealware.uncw.edu
• If TealWare has NOT been used on
your machine, you will see this
screen (you also may receive a
notice below the web address bar
asking permission to allow the
application to run, which is a
requirement):
• Check “I agree”, click on
“INSTALL”, and proceed with the
prompts to install the plug-in

• When completed, your
screen will refresh with the
“User name / Password”
prompts as seen on the first
screen above).
• Login with your UNCW
credentials and proceed to
the next step.

• Next, double click on
RESEARCH INSIGHT to
launch the application:

• If you get an “expired
license” message, hit
CANCEL
And… CANCEL again

6. Open Research Insight and start using the North
American data (i.e. Compustat) or the Global data
(i.e. Globalvantage) databases
• Go to START > ALL PROGRAMS > RESEARCH INSIGHT > RESEARCH INSIGHT
• Note: to switch from NORTH AMERICAN to the GLOBAL data, you need to
select the different DEFAULT DATABASES in the top menu.
• From the menu at the top, select DATABASES > DEFAULT DATABASES and
select
• COMPUSTAT for the North American data/ GLOBALvantage for the Global
data
