Chlorophytum borivilianum. Investigation are proceeds to tracing and finding the alternative ways to
conservation of Chlorophytum borivilianumat their natural as well as to introductions as a crop in
agricultural sector due to huge ethno economic prospective.
India is the second largest producer of vegetables in the world which meets the vegetable demands of 1.21 billion where 72.18 % population lives in rural and 27.82 % lives in urban areas. It is necessary to increase the production of vegetables to meet the demand of rapidly growing population.Kitchen garden plays a vital role in supplementing the vegetable requirements of urban, peri-urban, and rural families, thereby increases the food and nutritional security. All the type of vegetables can be cultivated in the kitchen garden depending on the climatic conditions. Of which, perennial vegetables plays a significant role in providing the vegetables throughout the year. Perennial vegetables are the plants that live for more than two years. Planting of some perennial vegetables in the kitchen garden can supply the fresh produce throughout the year. Unlike annual vegetables that need to be planted every season or year, perennial vegetables remain in the same place for many years.
Coccinia grandis also called baby watermelon / ivy gourd has medicinal properties used for treating diseases like leprosy, asthma, fever, jaundice, etc.

Medicinal plants are considered as a rich resources of ingredients which can be used in drug development. More than 30% of the entire plant species, at one time or other were used for medicinal purposes. It has been estimated that in developed countries like United States, plant drugs constitute as much as 25% of the total drugs, while in fast developing countries like India and China the contribution is as much as 80%. These countries provide two third of the plants used in modern system of medicine and the health care system of rural population depend on indigenous systems of medicine. Most of the drugs are considered very safe as there is no or minimal side effects.

You may have heard that muesli is a great healthy breakfast, but do you know what it is and whether it's actually good for you? When it was first developed, muesli was typically a dry cereal made from toasted whole oats, nuts, fruit and wheat flakes. Now, you can find many versions, including gluten-free muesli, fresh muesli (soaked overnight in water or fruit juice to soften), toasted or untoasted muesli, and its close cousin: granola. Depending on how the muesli is made, it's often more natural and contains less calories and sugar than granola, which usually has more added syrup to aid in the toasting.

Maintaining a healthy weight and staying fit doesn’t require as much effort as you might think. In addition to eating a nutritious diet, the secret involves getting up off the couch and moving. That’s not to say all exercise is created equal. The more intense and longer the duration, the more calories you burn. However, it may come as a pleasant surprise just how easy it is and how little time it takes to burn an extra 100 calories in a day. Multiply that by 7 and you’ve burned and extra 700 calories per week.
Let’s take a look at some activities that can help you burn those extra 100 calories…
The secret to managing Diabetes doesn't come in a pill. In most cases, simple lifestyle changes including diet and exercise will do the trick.
Treating, or managing, diabetes is a process of finding a balance. The root causes of the disease — insulin resistance and low insulin production — are slightly different in each person. The role each plays in the development of diabetes is different for each person.
So what works to control glucose levels in one person may not work in another. For one person, managing the disease may be as simple as changing diet and becoming more physically active. Whereas, another patient may need to take medication, a combination of medications, or even insulin to control their blood glucose levels. Finding the right balance is a process.
After diagnosing diabetes, a doctor will usually recommend a patient begin exercising and lose weight. These should continue for life. Metformin, an oral medication, will usually be given to the patient soon after diagnosis.
If after three months a patient’s blood-sugar level has not stabilized, a doctor may prescribe a second or different medication.
A study suggests that the worldwide obesity epidemic is lowest in developing countries. So does it mean people in developing countries are too hungry to grow fat ? Is Obesity a rich man's problem ?
It’s no surprise that we’ve been stressing on the fact that India is among the richest countries in the world and one of the leading horses when it comes to economic growth and increasing global presence. However unlike it’s fellow countries that are also a part of this race it also boasts of including in its population the largest number of poor people in the world, more than any other country. In a land of such diversity, another fact that we’ve been stressing on is that India is the third most obese nation in the world. But is obesity a problem for both the rich and poor folk? A new study tells us otherwise.
It’s time to stop punishing yourself up and leave insecurity behind. Try to limit self-criticism and offset its negative effects, enabling you to achieve your highest potential and a more contented, fulfilled life.
Do you treat yourself as well as you treat your friends and family?
It’s a very simple question but hard to answer. Isn’t it ? Based on a research called Self- Compassion - how kindly people view and treat themselves. It was found out that people who find it easy to be supportive and understanding to others, surprisingly are low on self-compassion, berating themselves for perceived failures as simple as like being overweight or not exercising.

Apple cider vinegar is renowned in the world for its health benefits and is an effective and interesting alternative to regular vinegar. It possesses numerous benefits and has also been praised by experts for the same. One can hardly overlook the obvious benefits that exist in this marvel of a vinegar. ACV with Mother is produced from the top quality of apples. The musk of the apple is crushed and the juices released are trapped. Later, this juice is used to manufacture True Elements Apple cider vinegar with mother. It is fermented and the resultant substance is the Vinegar.
Features:
Shows strong anti-microbial properties.
Improves insulin sensitivity in diabetics.
Facilitates weight loss.
It is unfiltered.
Good for a throat.
100% Vegan.
Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar:
It provides a list of internal and external benefits. As compared to coconut or synthetic vinegar, it has potent and effective benefits that can easily outnumber the alternatives. Some of these are as follows:
Mother Vinegar: The term 'Mother' in the title signifies that the vinegar is one hundred percent vegan. 'Mother' as one calls it is a naturally occurring substance and is high in enzymes.
Alkalizes body: The acidic nature of certain food invariably tend to damage your body. The substances present in ACV with Mother counter this action as it is alkaline in nature. This, in turn, helps remove and flush out toxins from the body.
Removes Lactic acid: The buildup of lactic acid creates the burning sensation you feel in very active muscles during a fast sprint or similar activity. It does not allow the breakdown of glucose, which makes it more difficult for your muscle fibers to sustain further exertion. It is effective in flushing out lactic acid from the body.
Clears sinus and throat: Just a simple gargle can help you clear your throat congestion.
Good bacteria: The presence of good bacteria eradicates the bad bacteria which is present in your gut and, as a result, it helps in digestion and keeps your overall system healthy.
How to Use/Consume:
Add one tablespoon of in a cup of cold water as a morning drink replacement for lemon juice or the likes. Mix it with your smoothie or an energy drink and consume immediately after workout for best results.
Alternative use:
You can even use it in cooking regularly.
Magnesium is an essential mineral required by every organ in the body for a range of activities including bone, protein and fatty acid formation. It is also essential in activating vitamins B and D, relaxing muscles, regulating calcium levels and helping blood to clot and is required for the secretion of insulin. Many of us do not get enough magnesium in our diets. Adults require about 300 to 400 milligrams a day.

New Directions in Targeted Therapeutic Approaches for Older Adults With Mantl...i3 Health
i3 Health is pleased to make the speaker slides from this activity available for use as a non-accredited self-study or teaching resource.
This slide deck presented by Dr. Kami Maddocks, Professor-Clinical in the Division of Hematology and
Associate Division Director for Ambulatory Operations
The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, will provide insight into new directions in targeted therapeutic approaches for older adults with mantle cell lymphoma.
STATEMENT OF NEED
Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is a rare, aggressive B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) accounting for 5% to 7% of all lymphomas. Its prognosis ranges from indolent disease that does not require treatment for years to very aggressive disease, which is associated with poor survival (Silkenstedt et al, 2021). Typically, MCL is diagnosed at advanced stage and in older patients who cannot tolerate intensive therapy (NCCN, 2022). Although recent advances have slightly increased remission rates, recurrence and relapse remain very common, leading to a median overall survival between 3 and 6 years (LLS, 2021). Though there are several effective options, progress is still needed towards establishing an accepted frontline approach for MCL (Castellino et al, 2022). Treatment selection and management of MCL are complicated by the heterogeneity of prognosis, advanced age and comorbidities of patients, and lack of an established standard approach for treatment, making it vital that clinicians be familiar with the latest research and advances in this area. In this activity chaired by Michael Wang, MD, Professor in the Department of Lymphoma & Myeloma at MD Anderson Cancer Center, expert faculty will discuss prognostic factors informing treatment, the promising results of recent trials in new therapeutic approaches, and the implications of treatment resistance in therapeutic selection for MCL.
Target Audience
Hematology/oncology fellows, attending faculty, and other health care professionals involved in the treatment of patients with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL).
Learning Objectives
1.) Identify clinical and biological prognostic factors that can guide treatment decision making for older adults with MCL
2.) Evaluate emerging data on targeted therapeutic approaches for treatment-naive and relapsed/refractory MCL and their applicability to older adults
3.) Assess mechanisms of resistance to targeted therapies for MCL and their implications for treatment selection
