1. Welcome to my Networking Page. I am grateful that you are here. To start off, my name is
Michael J. Rodabaugh, I often go by Mike. I have spent my life serving people. My Career,
life, and business, is with people. I have in every job role, served others, taking pride in
surpassing the wishes of my customers.
I believe Customer service is an essential part of every job in every industry, at every level.
Whether serving a Manager, Clients, Consumers, Colleagues, Friends, even Family; life and
business is about customer service and experience.
Around the age of 9 years old, my Father taught me how to treat and serve others. It was
around this age he helped me get contracts with my neighbors in our small town in Upstate
New York to mow their lawns at $20-$25 per gig, per client. We had a nice little John Deere
110 ride along mower and I learned the ropes of taking care of lawns.
My Dad has always been a perfectionist, and that eye for detail followed the family line
down to me. I would spend every effort on every lawn growing up to make sure every
blade of grass was cut, that all the excess was properly raked, etc.
My first Jobs in a business were at two separate family owned Restaurants where I washed
Dishes, made pizza, did prep work, and kept the kitchen spotless clean. I always did my
best to keep my domain as clean and well-kept as possible because to me, that’s important.
I eventually began working for my neighbor’s Grocery Store, which already had 100 years
of establishment. It was here, where my ability to server others truly flourished. The store
was and still is, in the heart of our small town of Pine City, in Upstate NY, Just across the
Pennsylvania Border. I was assigned to every role in the company as well. I ran the cashier,
I did stock, Compacted Cardboard, Pulled the crates off the truck with the forklift, managed
the IT Infrastructure, cashed out cashiers at the end of the day, closed up, worked the Meat
room, ran the Deli, and trained new hires. I became an everything man, and I was well
known and appreciated for it. Given that it was located such a small town, I learned the
names and Faces of everyone in the town. I always put the extra effort to engage in small
talk with the community while I worked. I became well knowledgeable in the different cuts
of meat we sold, the deli and veggie tray packages available, etc and I answered questions
and always had great suggestions for what to cook (My Mom taught me how to cook like a
Chef). At one point, I even became labeled as the “Mayor of Pine City” thanks to my charm
and well liked personality. All of this, because of one store, in one small town.
After College, I had my degree in Business and IT. I moved on to Corning Incorporated for
about 1.7 years as an IT Operations Level II Team member. In this role I did a lot of
monitoring, service requests, and escalations from the help desk if they needed assistance
with troubleshooting. I often made page outs to Tier 3 associates for infrastructure we
monitored, did my own troubleshooting, and called and worked directly with other
2. employees of Corning that required my direct & remote assistance to solve problems. I was
often complimented for my professionalism and kindness to others.
My big career jump was the move to Cerner Corporation, most well-known for its State of
the Art Solutions for Hospital Systems. In this role, I served Clients in regards to extremely
high priority system and application problems that I monitored. Most of my work could be
completed without engaging a client, but I often worked directly with other teams and
departments within the company to accomplish the same goal of solving a problem,
together. I was always complimented on my ability to bring people together, de-escalate
tense situations, and take the lead to bring full resolution to problems I handled. In this
capacity, I worked more as a liaison, than someone who performed at a highly technical
level, however in some cases, I could put my expertise in IT to work as well.
The ultimate goal is to always server others. When I server a customer, client, whomever, I
am doing it with great pride, knowing that I won’t be satisfied unless the customer on the
other end is also satisfied.
Leadership, Communicability, Aptitude, and Approachability are my strongest set of skills.
These skills are what allowed me to be able to work in a restaurant, a store, and in an IT
Position, because with my skillset, you can do ANY Job presented to you.
If you are looking for someone who wants to work, do things right the first time, and
believes in customer satisfaction, then you have come to the right place.
