Since the age of 14, I have workedinvariousfields.Iremembermyparentswoulddrive me to

to buymy firstcar. I quicklylearnedata youngage the value of workingandrelationshipdevelopment
that allowedme tothrive inmany environments.Fromwashingdishes,tonew car lotattendantto
waitingtablesandtendingbar,everyjobIhave undertakenhashada commontheme,workingwith
people.
A verywise manonce toldme,it’smuch easiertoownthe restaurantwhenyoustartedwashing
dishesbecause byclimbingthe ladderyoulearn everyposition.Thissayingisone inwhichIhave taken
to heart,not inthe sense of owninga restaurant,butmore inthe businessworld.Ihave always
approachedproblemsfromthe bottombyattemptingtofullyunderstandall angles of eachbusinessI
am dealingwith.Fromthe smallestdetailstothe largestitems,Iattempttolearnas much as possible
abouta situationinordertoanalyze anddetermine the bestpossiblecourse of action. Whetheritisa
clothingstore lookingtorelocate,ora large investorlookingforaspecificrate of returnfrom a
particularpropertytype involvingcomplex underwriting,Ienjoytakingon new assignments. I
thoroughlyenjoydivingintothe customer’sworldandlearningtheirbusinessandwhatmotivatesthem.
Throughmy incrediblydiversebackgroundinmultiplefields,Iamable to quicklybuildrapportwith
potential clientsandamable to quicklyunderstandtheircurrentmotivationsfor aparticularreal estate
requirement. WhenIwas19 yearsold,I had absolutelynoideathatIwouldeveruse myexperience
drivingaforkliftorworkingona windowmanufacturer’sassemblyline,butIsurprisedevenmyself asin
thisworldthere are many waysinwhichour skillswe pickupare applicable todifferent future
situations.
Aside frommyprimaryworkendeavorsinthe commercial real estate arena,Ibelieve thatitis
incrediblyimportanttogive backto those thatare lessfortunate inthe community.Iama firmbeliever
that we as workingprofessionalshave beenblessedbothphysicallyandmentallytobe able toafforda
life where we are notfacedwiththe hardshipsof manypeople livinginourownbackyard.I believe in
beingactive inlocal groupswiththe goal of improving the local community.Itisthe givingbackthat
helpsimprove the overall conditionof acityand hopefullyone daythe country.Everythinginthisworld
isrelative,andIf a youngpersoncan affordto go outto dinneranddrinksseveral timesamonth,they
can affordto supporta good cause because there are several charitable organizationsineverycitythat
offerdininganddrinkingeventswherethe proceedsare donated.
As manywhoare readingthismightalreadyknow,commercial real estateisaverydifficult
profession.The barrierstoentryare superhigh,the turnoverrate ishigher,andthe competitionis
fierce.The transactionstake onaverage 4 months’ minimumtoclose andcouldtake as longas 2 yearsin
manycases.What truly motivatesme inthisbusinessisclosingthe transaction. Iamincredibly
stubborn,andrefuse totake “no” for an answer. WhenI take on a new client,thatpersonbecomesa
friendeverytime,because theyseeIam fightingforthemandnotmyself.Mygoal in everytransactionI
complete istodo a jobthat is sogood the clientnotonlyremembersme andusesme forall of their
transactions,butrefersme to theirfriends andcolleagues.Iview myself almostasa“real estate doctor”
whois oncall 24-7 and hasthe abilitytodiagnose problemsandfindthe adequatesolutions.
As a problemsolverandsomeonewhothrivesinnevergivingup,Ihave hadseveral instancesin
my careerwhere closingatransactionlookedhopeless.MostrecentlyinMiami,Iwasworkinginthe
retail leasingarenahelpingretailstoresrelocate andnegotiate new leases.Inamarketwhere manyof
the spaceswere notlistedandthe ownersandbrokerswantedto keeptheirstoresavailable forthe
multi-national tenants,Iwasable tofinda niche withthe local and regional stores.Iwasable tobuilda
relationship withthe local brokersandownersandable toclose over20 lease transactionsperyear,
withmanyof thembeingoff-markettransactions.Iwasable to identifyaproblem, identifythe solution,
and approachprospective clientswiththe abilitytoease theirfrustrationsof findinganew home
throughmy experience ingettingtransactionscompletedinthe market.
I have recentlyrelocatedtoTampaand now have the immense fortune tobe workingwiththe
top commercial real estate firminthe world. Iwasrecruitedintothe commercial real estate world
January1, 2007 whenthe skywasfalling.Throughmy tenacityandresourcefulness,Iamone of the few
agentsinthisbusinesswhois31 yearsoldwith almost10 years’experience.Ibelievelearningthrough
the “great recession”hasmade me a betteragent,professional andperson.If youhave everhadthe
