permissions from researchers

The Evolution of ORCID CA
▶ CRKN and CASRAI planted the seed in December 2015
▶ RDC and CARL joined these organizations to further the
initiative
▶ Implementation Group so far includes: Compute Canada,
CANARIE, CUCCIO, COPPUL, OCUL, Carleton, University of
Alberta, University of Toronto, University of New Brunswick,
and Queens University

Why Do We Need ORCID CA?
Canada already has a stake in this:
▶ Currently 6 Canadian Institutional ORCID members
▶ Many more interested in joining
▶ Almost 35,000 ORCID iDs associated with a .ca email domain
▶ 250+ systems with ORCID integration
▶ Increasing number of international academic publishers and
funding agencies require ORCID identifiers
