This document describes the temperate deciduous forest biome. Key features include a location in eastern North America, Canada, Europe, parts of Russia, China, Japan, and Australia. The biome experiences four seasons and temperatures range from 70°F to 23°F with 30 to 60 inches of rain annually. Common plant life includes mosses, lichens, ferns, passion berries and blue lilies which have adapted to the land and climate. Typical animal life includes bears, raccoons, squirrels, skunks and wood mice with the wood mice hibernating in severe winters.
