8. Amilie Rorty and Moor’s identity Crisis
• Character as per context and style, humour, memory, rhetorical
effectiveness
• Figure: Disability is past sinfulness
• Person: dependent, no free will, predestined life
• Self: impairment, sarcastic, reflective, powerless
• Soul: remorse to resurrection
• Individual: not asserting or resisting, loneliness with frustration
• Presence: detachment to socio-political surrounding for disability
but he thinks, feels, reflects, regrets, mourns.

independence and individuality.
