How to become a social journalist and find news in the cloudMynewsdesk
Mynewsdesk Takes Your News to the Cloud
To find stories and news in the “cloud”, using the web as part of their work, is what defines the social journalist’s role. With Mynewsdesk, journalists can choose how and when they want to receive press information. On top of that, they can decide what information they want – thus receiving relevant material on their own terms.
There can be such a thing as “too much” information. But by simplifying and adding structure to the hunt for a story, journalists can benefit from the possibilities the social web offers. In this presentation, you will learn more on how journalists can use social networks as an effective tool.
Speakers:
Charlotte Ulvros (CMO), Jonathan Bean (COO) & Carl Jacobsson (Country Manager), Mynewsdesk
This presentation was part of the iAM Meeting on December 2, 2010 on blogging and building blogging alliances. The purpose of the gathering was to discuss how blogging can be used to build an authentic brand and build alliances among bloggers based on a common vision, desired audiences, and collaborative learning goals.

Improving Workplace Safety Performance in Malaysian SMEs: The Role of Safety ...AJHSSR Journal
ABSTRACT: In the Malaysian context, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) experience a significant
burden of workplace accidents. A consensus among scholars attributes a substantial portion of these incidents to
human factors, particularly unsafe behaviors. This study, conducted in Malaysia's northern region, specifically
targeted Safety and Health/Human Resource professionals within the manufacturing sector of SMEs. We
gathered a robust dataset comprising 107 responses through a meticulously designed self-administered
questionnaire. Employing advanced partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) techniques
with SmartPLS 3.2.9, we rigorously analyzed the data to scrutinize the intricate relationship between safety
behavior and safety performance. The research findings unequivocally underscore the palpable and
consequential impact of safety behavior variables, namely safety compliance and safety participation, on
improving safety performance indicators such as accidents, injuries, and property damages. These results
strongly validate research hypotheses. Consequently, this study highlights the pivotal significance of cultivating
safety behavior among employees, particularly in resource-constrained SME settings, as an essential step toward
enhancing workplace safety performance.

Author Tips
• As Kandinsky says, "Everything starts with
a dot." Sometimes the hardest thing in
writing a story is where to start. You
don't need to have a great idea, you just
have to put pen to paper. Start with a bad
idea, start with the wrong direction,
start with a character you don't like,
something positive will come out of it.
– Marion Deuchars, illustrator and
author of Let’s
Make Some Great Art
• It's important to be inspired by other
writers and sources, but when it comes to
the actual writing, I swear by going into
Tunnel Vision Mode. Pretend nothing else
exists but you and your idea. Don't
compare and don't despair.
